Enough With the Make $100/day Emails!

There is a WSO a while ago that goes like this:

- make a squeeze page
- drive traffic using solo ads
- use ad swap to grow your list
- promote WSO's like madman

There is nothing wrong with this, is a really valid method to make money, and even I had take advantage of the super fast track that solo ads provide on your list building effort.

But somehow I ended on a warrior's list that probably is used to do solo ads, now I receive around 40 to 50 emails every single day from unknown people offering the "Fastest way to $100 a day" and headlines like that.

Is really annoying unsubscribing from all that unsolicited mails that somehow pass through the spam filter.

Does anybody know an effective way to block those mails?

You can click the spam button when you receive that email, right? That way, emails from that sender will be marked as spam. What email service do you use? Gmail?

If you are using Gmail you can create a filter for the email address that will automatically deletes it (sends to trash). You can also do this with Yahoo. I don't use hotmail - but I'm sure you can do it with them as well.

That's what I do and it makes a huge difference. I don't even bother unsubscribing (because this is how the CSV swappers they know your email is "active"). Instead just filter them to the trash and they can send as many as they want and you will never see them.

    Cheers,
    Coby

Gmail now has introduced the 3 category inbox system in which automatically keeps the promotional messages seperate and it also gives you to mark any email as spam and you can get rid of emails from that person in the future.

I would never follow anyone who is trying to each you how to make $100/day.

That's only $36,500 per year. That's far less than the average wage in our country.

If you are going to follow someone then better to study the guys who are making serious cash. That way if you only re-create a little bit of their success you'll still be making good money.

Nor do I... I never open that kind of mails... I'm lucky to pass that 100/day mark long time ago (I'm not killing it with 5 figures yet but I'm aiming there).

In my country that's the double of the average wage! and is like 7.3 times the minimum wage.

Im going to have to disagree with you here WillR. Making $100 a day can be a fantastic opportunity depending on how much work you have to do for that $100. Here is a real world example. One of the several sites / apps I own brings me in around $1800 per month net. Thats only $60 a day. So given your logic thats no good at all. However when you consider that I work an average of 5 hours a week on that site only (answering support questions) then you can see how profitable that is. 5 hours a week =20 hours per month 1800/20 = $90 per hour average. which is far greater than the national average income.

Basically you cant say making $100 per day is bad because that is not the entire picture .. you have to say $100 per day .. while working X hours per day.

In fact I make a large part of my income doing just this. I have multiple sites / services that bring me in between $1000-$2500 per month. Because I only have to work a few hours a week on each of them the combination of them all is just a normal full time job, yet I make FAR more than if I was working for a company. Also because my income is spread around multiple areas my risk factor is much lower.

People really need to stop wishing for the stars and see that sometimes it can be really cool to just land on the moon.

I'm sure the cost of living is much higher in Australia than most places...

In Tennessee, if you make $3,000 a month ($36,000 a year) you are living very comfortably and will not want for anything for the most part. (I think the average is closer to about $24,000)...

While you wouldn't be able to afford a Lambo or a 6 story mansion - but not everyone wants those things.

In fact, in Tennesse - not many "real" jobs even pay you $100 per day. I know that I rarely made that kind of money prior to IM.

Like Bruce said - I think it really comes down to perspective.

If you are single and live alone - $36K is a lot more money that it sounds like.

      Cheers,
      Coby

P.S. I just moved back to the Oklahoma/Texas area this week. In this area there are many more jobs and industries (like the Oil Field) so making $36,000 a year here is not the same as it is in Tennessee as it is easier to do for the "average" person. You can start in the oil field with no experience and make $12-$19 an hour right out of the gate.

Yeah, who wants an extra $36,000 a year? What a waste of time, lol.

If it's average, that means half make less and half make more. There are plenty of people who would love to learn how to make $36,000 a year....especially if it's an extra $36,000 on top of what they already make.

As for the guys making serious cash, most of them are either lying, scamming, or spending big bucks to get big returns. Nothing wrong with number 3, but it's often out of reach for most people.

I think they're just targeting newbies with those emails. Some people can't believe a human can make $500 a day or over $100,000+ a year. They hear $100 a day and that's believable. Once they're in, then I'm guessing their exposed to the fact that there's a lot of money to be made.

I didn't even know regular everyday people were pulling in 5 figures a month until I met a guy who made $70,000+ on one real estate deal.

That's when my eyes were opened to the fact that it wasn't just CEOs and sports figures who were making the big bucks.

I feel where you're coming from now though. $100 a day wouldn't get my attention now. I'm aiming to be multi-millionaire.

I agree with following people who can help you make serious cash.

I disagree that $100 a day is pocket change or in any way an insignificant amount. In many areas of the world, $100 IS serious cash with a capital S.

      Just saying.

Just block them by sending them to your spam. A lot of Internet marketers use spam techniques which isn't the way to go.

40 to 50 emails every single day from unknown people offering the "Fastest way to $100 a day"
    40 x 100 = 40,000

    x 365 days a year = $14.6 million.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.

Thanks for helping me start my day with fun. It was fun reading this thread. Especially the $1.4M per month math.

By the way, I have a very special way of remaining subscribed to other lists. I rarely read anything apart from the headline, to find whether the subject even interests me. Most of the times, I delete the emails without reading (almost always). Sometimes, I see 5-10 gurus promoting the same email (can make out from the mail headline), and I choose a random one from them and read it up if that combination of headlines indicates an interesting subject.

Otherwise, sometimes, when I see some random emails and I need to take a break from my work, I just open one or a few of them, open the offer also at times, laugh at what I want to laugh at (and a random laughter can act like a real healer, I promise you), and then get back to work when I have had enough of this break. At this stage of my IM career, it becomes funny to get newbie advise.

While I am not much into the IM niche myself and do a lot more on physical products, I feel that the digital product gurus would do a lot better job if they cared to profile how long someone has been on their list, and at least try to guess their experience level and thereby filter the products for appropriate experience segments. While this may not be foolproof by any means, at least it will be better than mass-broadcast random emails.

      Totally agree!

Once I started noticing that the popularity of Solo Ads was coming back into fashion, I started unsubscribing from all the IM lists that I was a part of because I knew that the more their popularity increased and the more IMers started using them the more spam I would start getting from IM lists that I didn't subscribe to at all.
