Time to start some work!

Hello People, I have been studying affiliate marketing a few weeks now. I feel its time to take action and actually start doing something to try and get some money in. This is my plan


1# find an affiliate product to promote
2# Keyword research
3# make a blog based on those keywords. Linking to the product
4# make a YouTube video with my keywords. linking to my blog/ product
5# get back links - Anyone know any good strategies for getting good back links. That is free?
6# submit articles - What are the best directories to submit them to and how many do I need to pump out a day? Aslo should i link to my blog or the main affiliate capture page for the product. From my articals?

Any help is most appreciated

    For free you could look at article submission as a traffic and backlink tactic. Some people will link their offers directly to sales pages but I prefer to send them to a page on my blog for a presell. Your steps do seem like a good idea - I would work hard at it for a few weeks and then see if it is working for you. Also, I wouldn't publish more than 2 or 3 articles per day in the same niche. If you want to write more I suggest attacking more than one niche at a time.

      Hi Samuelbell

      To answer your question here is a 20 Step flowchart for you.

      1. Find out a really good affiliate product to promote (This much work is not worth it for just any product)
      2. Copy the main benefits of the product into a document and rewrite it in your own words.
      3. Do your Keyword research and compile all the keywords to a text file.
      4. Group these keywords to tight focused groups.
      5. Create about 5 - 6 articles revolving around each of these tight focused group of keywords.
      6. Check keyword relevancy and density for each of those articles.
      7. Try to get a blog name which contains a major keyword or that affiliate product name. If it is a self hosted wordpress blog, its all the more better as you can use a lot of good plugins, otherwise blogger or wordpress.com would do.
      8. Do a research on this product on the internet and write a product review and also add the product benefits to it.
      9. Try creating a bonus product that you could give away as an incentive to those who buy using your affiliate link.
      10. Cloak your affiliate link using a link Cloaker software.
      11. Create the blog which will be your main Presell page and post the review of the product on the blog along with the cloaked affiliate link and the bonus product you offering.
      12. Post those articles on your blog first using anchor links with the most relevant keywords.
      13. Bookmark your blog articles to all the social bookmarking and social news websites like propeller, Digg, yahoo buzz etc so that search engines index your blog article first.
      14. Create Squidoo Pages and load these articles there along with your main blog Presell page.
      15. Create hub pages, msn live journal and other free blogs using these articles along with your main blog Presell page.
      16. Create social networking sites accounts like MySpace, Facebook etc and add these articles to the blogs there too along with your main blog Presell page.
      17. Start submitting the articles to article sites according to their page rank. Start by submitting to sites with a high page rank first: example page rank 7- 6 and slowly coming down to until you submit to sites with a page rank of 2. Each of these articles will contain your byline with a link to your main blog Presell page. You can use Google toolbar to check page rank for these article sites.
      18. Make a YouTube video with some good information, example if you already have the product you could create a video which explains how to use the product. Think of something that the product owner has not thought off. The start and the end of the video would display your website link. You can also add your site link to the profile.
      19. Covert your article highlights to PowerPoint presentations. Then further convert those PPT's to videos that you could upload to all these video sites.
      20. Find out your Blog RSS URL and submit it to all the RSS directories out there for more back links.
      21. Rinse and repeat this process with another Good product.

      Other tips
      Wherever possible try to use anchor links with the most relevant keywords. Whichever article sites allow you to use html in your byline and article body, use anchor links there. The same goes with wherever you post your articles. Search engines give more weight age to anchor links.

      Your other questions:

      Get back links - Anyone know any good strategies for getting good back links. That is free?

      Ans: The steps I mentioned: mainly creating Squidoo pages, hub pages, blog accounts, article site submissions, social news websites, social networking websites, all these are to build your back links. Try to weed out the dofollow sites out of this, because those are the ones that will actually give you back links.

      Other than that try searching for websites and blogs with a high page rank which allows the general public to create an account and leave a comment or post there along with your link.

      Angela and Paul's backlinks package is also a good option that maybe you could think of later.

      Submit articles - What are the best directories to submit them to and how many do I need to pump out a day? Also should i link to my blog or the main affiliate capture page for the product?

      Ans: Try sending all the traffic to your blog, which is the main Presell page and from there they will click on your cloaked affiliate link to reach the actual product site.

      I had all the links for you but I can't post it here till I get 15 posts to my credit, but nevertheless you could have a look at my e-mag.in blog link to find out links of video sites, social bookmarking and article marketing sites.
