INTERNET MARKETING

If you are not making your own product and promoting it to a list or doing affiliate marketing can you make money off the net?

When I first started I thought I was going to sell physical product and then I started reading about having websites on AUTO that would earn money from Adsense and other PPC advertising so I thought that sounded an interesting concept, but what is the consensus of opinion, do you need a list to make money?

The list is an add-on, a big Add-on and it is necessary. Before, I thought it was not necessary because I earned selling my products (reports,scripts,websites) and domains but I was wrong, deadly wrong. Building list is a must in order to be successful in a faster way.

Another is by using BUM Marketing, PPC, SEO and other traffic building method plus getting affiliates and JV partners (if jv/affiliates are not considered as a list items) but having a list as I said is a must. Maybe you need to read more on the posts at bestwarriorthreads.com and you can see there a lot of topic that earn without a list.

  I make money without a list and without a website. I do something called licensing, where I actually use other people's sites and lists to make money for myself.

YES you absolutely positively make money online without a list.

When I first started IM about a year ago I never had a list and was averaging 25-50 a day without building a list. Now was this a smart idea? NO. But i was still making money. As a matter of fact I didn't even start building a list until recently and I have been averaging 50-75 a day. This last month or two as I have been building a list I can see my average going to about $100 a day.

So the answer to your question is yes. you can make money without building a list. Now is it the best way to build a long term business model. And you wont make AS MUCH money.

For the second part of the question. Yes there are other ways to make money besides affiliate marketing or making your own product. Like you said there is adsense, flipping sites, buying and selling domains, domain parking and much more.

The ways of making money on the internet really are only limited by your imagination.

You eliminated product creation and affiliate marketing. So if you aren't making your own products... or promoting someone elses... then you have to be providing services such as article writing, copy writing, graphic design, etc. in order to make money online.

I make money online with services providing technical support services dealing with blogs, cms', web design, etc.

The downside to that is it provides only a finite amount of money, because there is only so many services you as a person can provide in a single day's time.

  Mistyone - what are your reasons for not wanting to build a list, and not wanting to promote any affiliate products?
  
  No matter what you're doing online, you can build a list and also promote the odd affiliate product alongside it. Why not at least put an opt-in form on your existing sites, the extra cash you'll generate will more than pay for an AR service. You don't need to send out loads of emails, just load a few into your sequence, and then you have the option of sending a broadcast if you want to promote something, or ask your customers something!

  Yes, a list is the key to success. I started IM without any list just like you. But after I have my own list, I can always email them good offers and some will buy.
  
  However, you have to build a "responsive" list - meaning a list that will buy from you.
  
  It is no use to have a list if people don't buy things from you.

  You don't need a list to make money. But you do need a list to make big money. If you're serious in doing business (online or offline) you must have a list. Having a list translates to having potential customers and customers, and you can offer them your products and services now and in the future.

The answer to your question is yes, you can.

However, it is very difficult to build a long term sustainable business that way. Let me give you an analogy...

Would you invest your hard earned money in Enron (a company with a questionable business model) or Microsoft (a proven business model)?

A "No product, no list" business may sound appealing but it won't last.
