Raising Prices On Fiverr?

So lately I've started doing some work on fiverr.com and have been getting steady sales but what I've found is that the Gigs that are successful aren't really worth the time I end up spending on them. I would like to raise prices to $10 but I'm afraid the customers will not pay the extra amount. Any suggestions?

    Never, in any type of business, be afraid to raise the price.

    Its not easier to sell a $5 product, then a $10. Its just as easy to sell at both prices.

    Raise your price to match your effort your putting in on fiverr.
    Or find a way to create the gig with less effort!

    Both work well.

      Try selling your service on ebay as well. I was making a side income reselling fiver services there for 10 - 15 dollars a pop.

        Didn't know you could do that - is it in the classified section? Without directly exposing your own business, are there any niches you would suggest advertising?

      What a load of rubbish. Some industries are EXTREMELY price sensitive so raising prices could be suicide. Others are less so, but that doesn't mean you should raise prices without thinking.

      I would imagine most buyers on Fiverr are price sensitive too, or they wouldn't be looking for work to be done for $5 in the first place.

          You're just arguing semantics, it's still bad general advice as every industry is different. I do think before typing out sentences, thanks for your sarcastic comment.

            I am not arguing anything. I am replying to your pretty retarded statement of "what a load of rubbish".

            So what do you suggest? Keep selling low ticket items? Don't even take a risk?

            Understand this mentality. Its not any easier to sell people lower priced items, then it is to sell them higher. That's how it goes, I am sorry if you don't like that.

              What experience are you basing that on? I have a business degree and have been making 6 figures a year for a while now, so sorry if I'm not blindly "understanding" this mentality.

              I had a read of your blog and get that you are just starting out online, but trying to argue that it's no easier to sell someone something to someone with a low price vs high is rubbish.

              It depends on the price elasticity of the product/service you are offering. There are some arguments for raising prices (e.g. in this case he could sell 10 x $10 services vs 20 x $5 and gross the same amount in sales) but it really depends what you are doing. I'm not in a position to offer advice until I can see exactly what the OP is offering - if all his competitors are charging 4x more and still being successful, then maybe increasing prices is sensible. If they are all charging 2x less then my advice would be different.

              Your suggestion of "raising your price to reflect the effort you're putting in" is also not a good one. Contrary to popular belief, most consumers do not care how much effort you're putting in, nor will they pay well for "effort". People pay for results. If one designer can complete a logo in 30 minutes and a less efficient designer then takes 2 hours, you're effectively suggesting the less efficient designer could raise prices to reflect the extra effort.

    You need to find a way to "upsell" your own Fiverr service for more than $5. For example, if your primary service is to give them 10,000 Youtube retention views, the upsell service could be some sort of comments, likes and subs. Just be creative.

    Also, have you any gigs that are related to each other? Offer each as a gig extra for the other one!

    One of the best ways is add something of real value and related to your gigs. This way you can turn a $5 in to a $20 sale. All of the top ,marketers on this platform do it and is a great way to increase your earnings.

      You can always liaise with your clients as to whether to increase the cost of your gigs.
      Fiverr is the best and you can actually make more than what you are currently earning if you put in the right strategies.

        Thanks for all the advice you guys, I guess I'll have to brainstorm some ways to save time on some of my Gigs while keeping the value high. I could save a lot of time with automation but that really degrades the value of the service. Maybe add some related gig extras to bring the value up.
