How I'm adding buyers to my list with ebay

So this is nothing new but I haven't heard people talking about it.

Not even sure if this is really allowed but I've been doing it for about a year now.

Basically I am selling ebooks and prebuilt plr websites on ebay for $.99. When someone buys the book I send them to my buyers optin page.

On the optin page they can enter their email which takes them to a download page. But they can also bypass the optin page and download the book directly.

99% of the time they optin.

So in essence they're paying me $.99 to be added to my buyers list.

Just thought I'd share.

That's what I'm talking about, can you show me how you place the ad on Ebay

Seriously? Are you THAT lazy - you can create an account on here, but you can't read ebays "how to's" or do a google search for the answer to this very simple question?

Do you get many? I would think that's a very saturated method unless you're talking about a pretty obscure niche. Am I wrong about that?

How's the .99 "buyers" list producing for you? Does it convert with higher priced offers? How targeted are the people on your list and how many subscribers do you get every day?

In order for such a list to be valuable, it would seem to me, you've got to be able to get higher dollar sales out of the list and it should give you a pretty decent conversion rate when you make your offers . . . otherwise, it seems you're chasing after a method that isn't going to produce a list worth the effort.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Steve

Having a "buyers list" is great, but is this a responsive buyers list?

I agree with the concept that the "money is in the list".

I agree 10 times more with the concept that the money is my responsive list".

How is the list converting on your other offers?

Why not send them through a sales funnel with upsells before they get their purchase, or will that get your ebay account closed?

Did Ebay change their rules about selling digital products? As far as I remember it didn't used to be allowed.

People would get round it by claiming to offer a physical copy but then just emailing a PDF so people could get it instantly and save them the hassle of waiting.

You need to be careful as a quick check of another similar ebay seller stipulates that the $0.99 item (a book) is shipped and not emailed and therefore it does not violate ebay policy. He has these words stated on his listing-

"I will send this item by postal mail. Sending this item by email or by any other digital delivery method is not allowed and violates eBay policy."

I suppose as someone suggested, its emailed and not posted unless they get a complaint in which case a CD with it on is sent.

I used to sell ebooks on ebay and made quite a nice profit. I sent it via email and ebay never said anything about it. They don't really care as long as you don't make it too obvious that you will send it via the internet. You have to be clear about that on your listing that you will send it via "snail mail" in a CD, then after you get an order you simply send a private messege to your buyer telling them to check her/his email, that there's an *important* info in regards to his order in that email. That's were the PDF is attached or the download link is located. :-) Cha-chin-nnnng!!

You can build a huge list of buyers with eBay. But not for every product.

It works for example if you sell guitars. Then you can sell these little plastic triangles that you need to plug the guitar. Every customer is also in the market for a guitar at one point.
