I'm going with one of these to options, Please give me your opinion!

I am about to create my first website, and I will be choosing one of these two routes.

First: Create a full website with helpful information, squeeze page, the whole nine yards. I would write about 10 articles to start out and then monetize it with clickbank. I know this is what many do, but I'm concerned I won't make any money driving my traffic here, as I'm likely going with PPC.

Second: Make a website with one of two pages completely pointing to a product. This would be easier to make and if my traffic was pinpointed enough, I feel like I would get a better conversion rate here. The bad thing here is I will be unable to build a list.

Im just starting out and I only have about 150$ to start out. I'm afraid if I write to provide information people won't buy anything and I'll run out of advertising money. Which would you go with? Other opinions are also welcome.

    For Google PPC traffic, I would suggest sending to the smaller setup that gets straight to the point. But for your brand and other traffic sources, think long term instead of a quick turn around. Even just having a 10 part autoresponder email series will increase your conversions dramatically over the long term. With a list, you will still have something if you run out of investment money too.

    • I wouldn't try to start anything depending on PPC for the traffic with a budget of $150, unless I really knew what I was doing with the specific type of PPC traffic I was planning to use and that there was almost no learning curve ahead of me, with it. Otherwise I'd want a budget of more like $350-$400 to start that;
    • I wouldn't spend money on PPC and not try to retain some of the traffic by building a list;
    • I wouldn't try to promote ClickBank products as an affiliate without building a list. It stacks the deck against you far too much. Not many people buy a ClickBank product at their first visit to a sales page, and without opting in some of the traffic, how are you going to keep them returning to it?

    Just a personal preference for you to consider. Having built many sites in the past, I have come to the conclusion that, for me at least, top priority should be given to list building in the niche.

    I realize everyone is anxious to present offers/products and get some money coming in. In many cases, that strategy is really short term based.

    How much more credibility and authority would you have with your audience if you didn't ask for a penny right out of the gate - but instead offered lots of relevant and high quality content for your readers? Would that make it easier to gather emails to build a list? Yes.

    Are there ways to promote your site and your content without spending money? Yes, definitely. Could you build up your audience faster with a little paid advertising? Yes, probably, although it's not a requirement or a sure thing.

    I'm saying the route I would suggest is to begin without spending a lot of money and without focusing on making short-term quick sales at the expense of building an audience.

    I would go with option 1. Build that list, write new article(s) everyday, and continue to pitch to your subscribers with a cleverly disguised affiliate link. Choose the path that is virtually certain, and that is much more predictable.

    Why not just setup a Site, with a Squeeze page, and Build your list.
    Then email that list, As many offers as you want for no extra charge...

    You can always write SEO articles with a link back to your site, etc.

    You can then get Organic Traffic, Promote via Solo's, and Do ad swaps with others to build your list, Thus traffic over time.

    You will probably burn your money with PPC. You have to learn many things if you want to be successful.

    Take your time, study many posts in this forum, and learn how to drive free traffic to your website.

    Id go with option number one. Keep writing articles everyday. Build your list.

    When I've gone this route, I've seen the most success. I'm not sure I would do the monetizing soon soon. Build up the website with content and traffic first. Getting a few hundred visitors coming in a day.
