Big Article Marketing Tip - Increased My CTR Drastically

...and it's stupid simple.

People always talk about the "perfect" resource box and getting a better CTR--after all, that's the point of putting articles up in the first place (aside from backlinks).

If you use Ezinearticles as your primary directory, which most of us do, you can get much better CTR using this technique. Don't bother doing anchor text like <a href="http://myurl.com">my anchor text here</a>

I did this for a really long time and my CTR was dismal compared to how well it is now. What did I do differently? I just hyperlinked the actual URL itself. So, for example, instead of:

<a href="http://www.weightlossprogramreviewz.com">weight loss reviews</a>

I'm now doing:

<a href="http://www.weightlossprogramreviewz.com">http://www.weightlossprogramreviewz.com</a>

And my CTR is significantly higher.

This also gets rid of having your articles rejected for using "too many" words in your anchor text (this happens, they limit it to 3...so they claim). And people immediately recognize it as a link, and realize exactly what to click.

Try it out!

I'm pretty sure that EZA links in the resource box are dofollow. Still, I'm going to try the URL approach and see what happens. Thanks

I just view sourced on one of my articles. There are nofollow commands, but they are all on the menu links. Perhaps that's where you got it from.

The keyword rich anchor text is better for getting backlinks than just the URL isn't it? But I guess in your case, your domain is keyword rich anyway..

You could also do <a href="http://link.com">Keyword keyword http://link.com</a> so you still get the kw's in there

I don't think that'll work... if you're posting it to EzineArticles.
They'll either mark it as problem article (too many anchor words)
or they'll edit (yes, edit) it.

Have had it happen a few times.

Hey Andrew you really don't need to use the HTML code at all... if you put your entire URL (without the HTML anchor tag) your link will be active.

Just giving you a heads up

here I'll add to this (don't mean to threadjack)... I use the entire URL also, but I also give my links a little flair by adding colour (notice the css).

    <a href="http://www.myaff-site.com" style="color:#FF7F00;" target="_blank">http://www.myaff-site.com</a>

I also give my links the "_blank" target so that they open in a new window and not leave the page, because I use 2 links in my resource boxes... one to my top-level domain, and one to a Squidoo lens.
