every solo ad vendors claim they have best solo ads...

Every vendor claims they have the highest quality buyers list

They have a website that shows testimonies

I don't trust testimonial pages that solo ad vendors show me because the testimonies are usually from Joe, John, Jane from Cali or something

How to really spot a good one besides testing with a purchase?

    Hi,

The best way is to search around the forum & look for warriors' comments regarding their own personal experiences with solo ad sellers who are also warriors here on the forum. They are also a few warriors who have wsos that rate various solo ad sellers from their own experiences with them. You can also google "reputable solo ad sellers" and see what pops up.

    I hope this helps.

There's also the paid testimonials too which can give a bias review

Be careful, it's best to test the solos first if possible. Of course, you have to have a great sales funnel. Then just get 50-100 clicks and you'll see the quality of their best selling solo ads!

I have found that a lot of the reviews on safe-swaps are also not accurate.. I bought 1000 clicks from one dude with 100% feedback and got about 10 sign ups..

With the push on people making a living from solo ads alone I have found that solo ads are getting more and more saturated and less profitable for solo ad buyers.

Of course they say that. No one is going to say "Hire me, I have the worst in the business".

It's okay to think you have the best, especially if you can back it up with dozens of happy customer testimonials.

I agree, check with the people who left the testimonials to see if they actually bought a solo ad from the person who they've left the testimonial for.

Also this forum is quite good for finding reputable solo ad vendors, as people here on the forum will generally leave very honest feedback directly on the thread.

  • Testimonials can obviously be bought so I understand your apprehension in trusting them. What I try to do is look for testimonials from other warriors that have a lot of history and activity on the forum outside of just leaving testimonials.

Ultimately with a business you need to be willing to test things and lose some money. That's part of business and its a tax write off.

But try buying small test campaigns from folks that have real testimonials from folks based on what I described above. Ultimately it's hard because so many marketers are good at misleading folks so you're taking a risk eitherway. You just want it to be calculated to diminish your chances of any great lost of time or money.

Domain flipping is still live and well, my group is flipping +10,000 domains a year (successfully sold). The key is knowing how to stand out from the competition and lots of automation. Will be glad to lend advice.

You may be confused...The thread is about "Solo Ads" Not Domain Flipping...

It's not an easy question to answer.

There are some very honest people here who sell Solo Ad's, and the traffic is just fine.

    The questions become:

    A) Is your offer any good?
    B) Is Double Opt-In still on or have I disabled it?
    C) Is your email marketing good enough to keep your subscriber?
    D) How can I find out more about the seller before making my purchase?
    E) Who writes the swipe?

This isn't even close to comprehensive, but the Solo has just as much to do with how you handle the Solo as it does the traffic sent to you in the first place.

Chances are though, if you think everyone is out to scam you, they probably are.

I keep double opt-in OFF. People are just too lazy to go click a link to confirm lol

I have found that the best way to actually gauge the traffic is to buy the smallest package the seller offers (50-100) clicks.

Then I just track the traffic and I will do repeat business with the ones that perform well and I'll make sure to make a note to NOT do business again with the ones that perform poorly.

The reality is that some solo ad sellers traffic will work awesome for one person's offer but might bomb for a second person's offer. That's why you have to take all the testimonials with a grain of salt.

Normally you can test the solo ad sellers traffic for a small price. If they do well, buy more clicks.

As you gain more experience you will start to develop a 6th sense about with providers will do well and which ones will do poorly.

Be sure to track and record all your results so you can make a better buyer decision in the future.

    Hope his helps.

    Cheers,
    Coby

Yeah thats a good way if you're dealing in small numbers, but when you need 50-100K clicks per week for either yourself or people you get traffic for - that's not the best approach.

I've found the best source of traffic is not in SafeSwaps or anyone who plays near there.

I'm in some skype groups with a lot of solo ad sellers and they all come across as very desperate to get a solo sale.

They post 3-4 times a day their special, the same testimonial for weeks.

Then half of those SAME people then post in the SAME groups that they are looking for click swaps!!! HAHAHAHAA

Very incestuous if you ask me.

An ad that worked for one may not work for you. At the end of the day you have to conduct your own testing of sources and learn from that data. Someone elses ad that pulled in 47% optin's on XYZ solo mailing list is useless to you in my opinion.

Also, in my opinion and everyone I talk to who deals in big traffic numbers, ROI is more important than opt-in rate.

Sure, opt-ins are important. But if you get 60% optin rate and nobody buys shit - you may as well have gotten 0% optin.

I think a solo ad that generating traffic but few sign up has to deal with your pages copy, originality etc.

If you are just using a self replicated site, expect low optins. Chances are others are advertising the same page on that list.

Solo ad traffic is only as good as your landing page.

It all comes down to testing and tracking.

Pay attention to the traffics geo graphical location.

If most of the hits I get come from 3rd world countries, I'd be pretty dam irate.

I'm actually quite surprised about a fiver solo ad that generated 27 leads and 2 sales I ran earlier this week. That particular vendors list is a goldmind to me.

I had to run my way through a few gigs to find that vendor .

Join the person's solo ad list and see how much email is sent, and what's being promoted.

Also the limited pool of subscribers all trying to build a list big enough to sell means that it can just become very incestuous and no-one actually buys anything.

If you're looking to build a list and not sell solo adverts you're best investing that money in other forms of advertising. I think that banner advertising will get you a lot more traffic and leads who are not saturated with the same adverts.

Ultimately the only way to find out is to test and track, then learn from the results. It may be that you kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince.

The best way is to ask the Solo Ad vendor for proof. Make sure you get proof of their list size, and how much clicks they can send on a mailing. But, better yet - ask them for their last 2 - 3 customers, if they've done a good job, they will have no problem with you asking their customers how they've performed.

Also, testimonials are good, but some are written years ago and they cannot provide the amount of clicks they promised currently - so always look for updated 2013 testimonials (Usually atleast a month or two old.) I also provide one of the most biggest and thoroughly tested list of Solo Ad providers in 2013 here... As you know, it all depends on your swipe copy. Keep it short and to point

My friends refer me to quality providers which i think is the strongest way to find them. It's also nice to have my buyers refer me to their friends.

I know a lot of advertising spots that force sellers to provide a sales page with testimonials. It's just the nature of the business really. And it just happens that word of mouth tends to be the strongest form of promotion for this type of service. At least from what I've seen.

Not every vendor does that, but you're quite right. I can understand you... That's why I titled one of my ezines "The Worst Newsletter in the World"

Stop reading testimonials. Even if a testimonial reflects 100% the reality (I mean that it's not fake), it won't help you too much. That was the reality at a certain moment in time. One month ago, one year ago, you don't know - most of the times the testimonials aren't dated.

A list is a "living" thing. The subscribers (or the buyers if you prefer) are alive.

Just a simple example... When the testimonial was posted, John Doe - a quality buyer (I hate this term) - was subscribed to 10 newsletters. Maybe today the same John is subscribed to 100 newsletters. The competition for you is tougher. John may not be a quality subscriber anymore. You see? Apparently nothing has changed as concerns vendor's list. In fact, the change is dramatic

The quality of a list changes (ups and downs). Once again: stop looking for testimonials. And don't take into consideration any old review, even if it's posted on a third party site. If it's old, it's not about the actual list.

    - Ask your friends about their recent purchases.
    - Subscribe to recommended lists and assess the quality of their content
    - Contact the vendors and ask them smart questions.
