Ok, I have recently learned that it is hard to try to get a domain name for a site that already has page rank and tons of backlinks. It was trouble switching to a new domain on one of my blogs. But question is since I am trying 5 new projects which involves having a website for each, would it be best to go ahead and get a domain name now? What if my project fails and I dont need the site anymore? That would be a waste of money. I am trying to do this with the lowest budget.

And if the answer is yes, what would be the best option if I will be using my sites to promote affiliate products. "Domain companies"

Project failure is something that may dwindle in the back of our minds, but if we listened to that voice of doubt, we'd get no where!

As for getting the domain, if you choose a decent one, and you do "fail", you should be able to resell it with no loss, but at least a slight profit and possibly more.

Also, there's the issue and argument of the Google Sandbox... the theory, assumption, that new sites don't rank well until they've been around a while. In this case, it may be prudent to get the domain as soon as you can. HINT: I once got a domain that I put up a "under construction" message at the top and told NO ONE and NEVER posted any links about it... and Google still found the site and indexed it! Not sure how that was done, but it happened.
