If you want to get into blogging, you really need to buy a domain name, hosting, and install Wordpress on it rather than using a free blog site or whatever. The reason for this is so that you have control over the content and what you promote.

Free sites are very picky and can take your content down at their discretion. Then, you have to start over. Having a blog on your own domain also allows you to build a list a stuff. The first step, though, is to do some research and figure out what niche you want to go into (dating, weight loss, sports...etc.

    Good luck,
    Joey

I don't suggest website builders. I suggest a domain with hosting and Wordpress.
    Signature

Blogger at RicherOrNot.com (Make Money online blog but also promoting ethical internet marketing)

I will go against the grain which is what I do best.

Lets sit back and think for a second.
You build a site, you seo it, you link it, you promote it, what are we talking about 2, 3 months to see a good rise in google.

Now you do blogger, I wonder who owns them. Wink Wink, I wonder how there site ranks on the serps. I wonder if you put up really good content if the serps wouldn't pick it up faster and rank it faster.

UMMMM just little thoughts for the pleasure.

Now I am not saying do not have a website we all need one but for promotional purposes and making money, tailgate blogger, wordpress, weebly ect and ride there shirt tails to faster rankings.

I still get crap about this and every student I have had and myself has seen greater results and faster results from this method.

Edited: I have made affiliate sales day two with this method on free organic searches.

This is probably your most economical options (using blogger as your free host but buying your domain).

A lot of people say to purchase your own domain/hosting. I tend to agree. The reason is because you have total control over your content, advertising, etc.

Yes, Blogger is owned by Google but (sarcastic *wink wink*), they also have a lot of rules about the type of advertising you can have and free hosting platforms are just as likely to delete your site for some sort of violation or spam accusation (whether you are or not) as they are to let you keep going. I've seen it happen to SEVERAL people. You are better off investing a little bit more to maintain total control.

By usiing your own domain on blogger you are doing nothing but getting your own website and you lost the seo of the big boys. Your domain will have to rest on itself.

To ride the wave of the seo experts you need to use there free platform.

I have several hundred pages out there on free platforms. If I make one sale every two months I am happy with that. Sort of like adsense when I quit. I had several hundred adsense sites, if each made .25 cents a day on each I was happy.

Use blogger with a blogger domain you will kill it if the content is great.
