How does a contract need to be written if one business is established and another is just a person who can provide a service? Is that illegal or what... Please help

A contract is between 2 parties - there's no reason why one party can't be an individual and that's certainly not "illegal". The level of detail a contract would go into will largely depend on the complexity of your agreement, the jurisdictions involved and any guarantees/warranties made by either party.

    But...

Speak to a lawyer if you're not sure. Most of the time you can reuse the same contract/agreement over and over again so it's a worthwhile investment. Not an IM forum - you'll get a range of dangerous advice from people who haven't got a clue. Obviously you'll get some good advice too but you never know who to listen to

    Sean,

you can just draft up a simple "letter of agreement"... clients tend to like the sounds of that over "contract".

I've attached one of mine, should you want to "model" one after it.. feel free.

Thanks Shawn, I have 100s of contract but no agreement letters. I'll make sure this gets into use.

You really need to get some legal advice, but in general, any two people can create a contract (or a business and a independent contractor).

Sounds like a good question for an attorney - not an Internet Marketing forum...
