1157 visits, no conversion. what am I doing wrong?

Dear warriors,

Yes i am new to IM, but last month I decided to give it a shot, I went through the WSO's froum, and I picked a product from there and tried to implement everything it said.

Even though I didn't know much about IM or building websites, I tried really hard than I chose a clickbanck product to promote and after a few days I got my blog published. It wasn't easy but I did it LOL

Now a month after I had about 1157 visits but with no conversion whatsoever, I was on google's first page for the keywords I optimized the blog for, for nearly 4 weeks, I just dropped to second page a couple days ago after believe it or not I had two articles accepted at EZA. Go figure!

So can anybody please tell what am I doing wrong?
Was the product I chose a failure ?

I am a little discouraged but not a quitter at all.

Your imput will be highly appreciated

PS: The blog is in my siggy!

    Hi Mate,

The first thing that I would do with that blog is to
start building a list. Set-up a "Lightbox" script and
    offer a free report.

"7 Deadly Mistakes Every Woman Makes With PCOS"
or something like that. Because you have worked
hard to build traffic to this blog...its a shame that
    you are wasting it.

Put people into a list and then keep sending them
links to the articles on your blog.

That way you can recycle your traffic atleast.

    Take Care,

    Michael Silvester

      Thanks Michael,

I know that building a list is a necessity but my budget is really tight to get an autoresponder but that will be the first thing I get with my first sale.
And for now I have no idea how to set up a "lightbox" script, is it something that anybody can help me with?

I am grateful for your imput, Thank you.

And the Ad for Nicole Williams products. Totally confusing. I thought she was you.

Why is there a separate page for bonuses? How do I order to get the bonuses? Is that different from ordering off the first page of your site?
      Hi archivefive,

Please tell me what do you suggest for the headlines.

Haha, the ad for Nicole William, I just added that two hours ago, I just wanted to see it was gonna generate something.

And for the bonus page I just didn't know how to insert it in the blog.
It does come with the product and I just thought it'll be good to add it.

Please give me some suggestions that would be very helpful, I am still learning.

      Thanks in advance

      Than

Install the Max Blog Press Unblockable Popup WordPress plugin... it's what I use. And also, if you can't afford a high quality autoresponder right now, you can install Dada mail on your blog. I know it's offered through my web host's Simple Scripts dashboard - might be offered in Fantastico as well, ask your web host's support team. When you get enough money, you can always export your subscribers as a CSV file and import them into pretty much any host you choose (I know Aweber and GetResponse have that feature and any good autoresponder certainly will). Your subscribers will have to re-affirm that they are on your list though - because of double optin requirements, they have to be sure you're not just adding random emails willy nilly.

        Hope this helps.

I don't like the ad on the right.

It has nothing to do with your topic and even if it did, it instantly gives your site the same impression I get with most other blogs - cheap recycled content designed to play the numbers game and make a bit of ad revenue along the way.

    1) Remove it and have in its place as Michael suggests - a free report. Get someone to design a simple report cover graphic that instantly telss visitors it's about these types of cysts.

    2) Also get a simple header with an image / images that instantly tells me this blog is about ovarian cysts and nothing other than ovarian cysts.

    3) Change "about Me" to "My Story" - it gives you instant credibility that you have a right to comment on this topic.

    4) Get rid of the "Bonus Package" link. you are trying to sell me too early. Instead have a "What Are OV Cycsts" link at the top which is a permalink to your post on that topic. Again, it sets the context that your blog is exclusively about this topic.

    Your top nav would be:

Home | My Story | What Are OV Cysts? | Contact Me | Free Report| Privacy Policy

    Hope that helps,

    Phil.

point #1 and 2 will take a little time to figure out, I am just a n00b, LOL

      Again thank you Phil

        Hi,

Are the 1157 views for your webpage or are they hops for the clickbank product page?

Also, Click Here to Visit the Ovarian Cyst & PCOS Relief Secrets Website.

Is not a very interestesting link to click.

What you want is for your links to be a benefit

        like:
How to cure Ovarian Cysts Naturally . . . click here.

        Another thing.

You said you placed on the first page for the words you targeted.

It is important to target words that someone looking for a cure would type into the search engine.

Target phrases and try to get ranking for phrases like:

        How to cure ovarian cysts
how to get rid of ovarian cysts

        not phrases like:
        ovarian cysts facts
        ovarian cysts info

You want to make sure your seo and ezinearticle titles are targeting those people that are looking for a cure, and not just browsers looking for info about the subject.

If the 1157 views are hops to the clickbank page and you sure the traffic was from targeted buyers looking for a cure, then it is probably time to find another product to promote. Just make sure they where qualified leads before you give up on them.

        Hope this helps,
        Terry

    Hi Melinda,

Just a couple things that hit me...

Next to your blog title is the line "Eliminate All Types of Ovarian Cysts Within 2 Months."

That's your bold, strong promise, but it is made using the smallest type font on the blog thus it doesn't stand out.

In your bio you say, "After many years of dealing with ovarian cyst pain, I think I've finally found the cure."

Uh, you think you have! Have you or have you not?

Then there is a weak sentence, "If you want to learn more about my story, just click on the "about me" page below." My first thought is, "Why would I want to?"

BTW there is not a link called "about me," the link is "My Story." I kept looking for "about me."

But I do click on the link to your story, and shazaaaaaaammmm! There is your powerful story message hidden on the page about you. OMG it's hidden inside your Website.

"It all started when I was 31 when I noticed a little pain when I ovulated.
It was so mild, I brushed it off. As the months went by, the pain got worse.
    A week after..."

Now you have your reader into your story and the success in your story becomes a strong message.

Get the start of that story onto the font page! Use it to pull readers who want the cure.

    Just my two cent worth.

    :-Don
