Is this possible - buying a domain name and redirect them to a sales page?

Guys,

Need some advice on this.

Was wondering whether is it possible to get sales by doing this

1. Purchase a domain name
2. Using HG, redirect my ailifiate link (example: www.name.clickbankproduct.com) to my name domain name.
3. Start promoting my domain name to get 1st page in google.
4. People go in and some purchase the items.

By doing this, do I get paid? Or does this method work? I am not good at writing contents so I was thinking can I do things like this?

As My main intention is to get links with keywords target pointing to my site. Is it possible to do this way? Will I raise any flag by doing this? As my content will be the same the landing page that I am promoting.

Appreciate someone can help me on this? Thanks.

    You don't need Hostgator or any other hosting account.
    A domain broker like Godaddy is all it takes.
    Buy the domain, then login to your account to manage the domain.
    Click on "Forwarding" (underlined text says "Domain is not forwarded")
    Select "enable forwarding" and enter your affiliate link
    Click "OK" and log-out.
    Your domain will now redirect to your affiliate link

    Yes it's possible and if your page has the same content as the merchant site, use method described by Stefan Vee for a direct redirect. This way, you save on hosting.

    Redirecting to a sales page will work, but I feel you will miss out on sales if you don't use a landing page and PreSel your visitors.

    So it's possible to do this way. Which mean i need to promoting my redirected site with my keywords to have higher ranking. Is this workable?

    As in using Link building method [With target keywords] to rank high, using the sales page and sell. Since this is what i feel a lazy way to work..

    Why do you feel that I feel i willl miss out on sales if i don't use a landing page and PreSel my visitors? I thought their sale page will be more than enough to get sales?
