Email marketing beginner questions

First question is: which way to send emails if I would legally collected for example 50k subscribers? What is the best automated way to send those all emails? Of course I cannot put all that 50k emails separated by comma in "To" section of the letter.
Is it better to send from my domain mail? Or may be better to use some service which get my mail base and make sending?

Second question is: How email subscription services are effective? It is for case when that service has niche-segmented audience and sends prompted emails to the users which are subscribed for according niche. What is your opinion regarding this approach? What are pros and cons? Which approach do you prefer : collect and use custom email database or use such company?

Please answer my both questions.
Thanks

It depends on exactly what you mean by "legally collected". That's because the options available to you, for sending email to 50,000 subscribers, depend on this. Are these your own subscribers, who have each given you permission to send them email? Or if not, how were they "collected"? Nobody can really answer your question very meaningfully or helpfully without knowing this.

I don't quite understand the second question. If you're asking about the relative advantages and disadvantages of using autoresponder services or self-hosted autoresponder software, then opinions differ, and there are hundreds of threads here debating the merits of each. I prefer an autoresponder service at the moment, because I'm a "non-techie" and frightened of screwing up with self-hosted ones. If you meant something else, then apologies for misunderstanding.

If you are using any form of email marketing then you must use a reliable and trusted service - an autoresponder account. I am concerned about your legal 50K email addresses. If you use your autoresponder account to create a proper email opt in form then you would automatically get those email addresses and their consent. It is spam and illegal if you don't have their permission.

Like Alexa I'm not too sure about the second question. You can segment your list in an autoresponder account according to niche or anything else.

By "legally collected" I mean a permission to send them email.

According my second question, lets consider scenario when I do not have an email database, but I want to sell for example some insurance service. There are probably exists services on the web where people are subscribing/unsubscribing on emails with predefined topics, and insurance is one of them. So me as an advertiser, specify niche, submit email, this service reviews its email and submits it to users which are subscribed to insurance. Are there exists some of such services? How effective they are? Provide some links to most relevant please.

also, thank you for information about autoresponders, I will start investigate that.

The word you are looking for, I believe, is "co-registration".

That's where, when you subscribe something like a retailer's email list, you are faced with a row of checkboxes and are asked to check off what else you are interested in.

      There are such services.

How effective they are depends on your offer and message copy.

I don't use these lists, as I prefer to grow my own, so I don't have any links for you. In the USA, you might want to have a chat with a rep from a list broker like USAInfo.com.

The bigger concern is by "permission to send them email"... do you mean they have given you specifically permision to send them email? In other words, did they opt-in to your list? Or has someone sold you a list they are telling you is an opted-in list?

If they didn't opt-in to your list then it's not permission based.

      Regards,

Email lists are probably the most reliable form of consistent traffic and buyers. The hard part is getting the list.

You need an autoresponder to send the emails at scheduled intervals, I use Aweber, but there is Getresponse, mail chimp, and a number of others you could look at.

Collecting the names your self, or trading sending emails with someone in your list is the most effective. Usually, buying lists aren't very effective.
