You will find that anything to do with internet marketing is nearly always in US dollars. If you have a paypal account you will be fine. The conversion will take place automatically.

It is best to keep it consistent. Stay in dollars its what most people expect and trust. You will be marketing world wide.

Can I sell fiction?
You can sell anything - its a question of whether people want it and are prepared to pay for it. You need to do some research - find out what is selling well on Kindle books.

Yes but not instantly. If you want a real business then give it at least 6 months before seeing real results.

You can publish for freeso its a good place to start to see if it is profitable for you. If you do then also sign up for KDP select (also free) and do a free promotion on your book. If no one downloads your book when it is free then it is not likely to be profitable long run.

Yes. You should be able to. You might find some people on the forum here who could help you with that.
Also you can use the free kindle publishing software to create a cover if you want to get something done free.

You seem to be going about this in the right way. Learn on this forum but most importantly put it into action. Creating information products (ebooks, audios, videos) is low cost to you but a realistic means of earning money.

Your English is good and if you need to earn some money to invest in your new enterprise, you could always write articles for people. You can advertise on here under the services section and include a link in your signature. That way you will be getting paid while you are learning the ropes.

Yeah. Whatever you decide to promote...market to the Indian population exclusively. I don't care if you read, write, and speak English well enough. I can read and write German, but I don't live there and have no idea what the culture and customs are like.

I've seen way too many noobs from different countries attempt to market to Americans...they ALWAYS fail, and for obvious reasons. Save yourself the headache and heartache and focus on your native population. That's just the way it works.

There's millions of internet customers out there who DO NOT speak English and DO NOT live in the West...cater to them.

There are plenty of outright scams, of course, but in some ways more harmful are the plausible-sounding products from well-meaning creators whose methods simply don't work. I mean, it's not as if all these creators are going to be qualified in experimental design and statistical analysis, so sometimes they release inadequately tested material.

Anyway, the fact that people can do something doesn't necessarily mean that they will. Most people simply aren't aware of online opportunities. Even those with some awareness may not bother -- look at what happens with healthful eating, exercise, etc.

That's for vendors. You can be an affiliate and sell other people's products. There's no registration charge for that.

Information has value, especially little-known information.

You can write your book and then hire an editor/proofreader on a freelance site to go over it.

Probably better off on Kindle for that, but $27 is a tough sell for Kindle fiction.

If you are planning, thinking and asking. Forget it. Set yourself to give value to all of us. Sell something no matter where are Kindle or Clickbank. Prove to your family by yourself, not just asking how to encourage your to do it.

Unfortunately the world is not all sunshine and roses.
Not going to discourage but you should know that earning a full time income from IM is a dream attained only by a small percentage...

There are ways to make legitimate money online. For example if you are great at writing, I would maybe look into Fiverr, Elance, or Odesk for some writing jobs.

If you are a fairly fast writer you would only need to have 3 jobs done in fiverr a day to = 1000 a month. Elance and Odesk you can get paid more, which could turn into a couple of articles or one.

If you are looking into making a business, I would do what other people said and see what major problem people are facing in your country then solve that problem for them.

The ebook does not have to be long either, and usually the quicker you get to the point the better.

There are totally legitimate ways of earning money online. They're not really discussed in detail in any of the major business websites - Inc.com, Entrepreneur, etc. - but they do exist.

A lot of people here are doing it. I'm doing it. I invested around $100 to get started. I'm making a few thousand now.

Get Rich Quick schemes are scams because you don't get rich quick from this. You stay rather poor for awhile, actually. I was making near nothing for months. That's why most people keep going to the 9 to 5 - because it's a guaranteed paycheck. IM is NOT a guaranteed paycheck. I've been trying to convince friends to switch out of their miserable 9 to 5 and start building an online portfolio but they won't because you are going to be working for free for a long time before you start seeing money coming in. You might be at it for months or years before you start earning a decent pay.

But once you have that pay....it is so, so worth it.

- After some research, I found a site called Clickbank.com. I know you are well aware of it. The registration charge for it is $50, I guess. So can I register and avail the services here in India ?

You only have to pay that if you're going to sell products yourself. You can register for free and start selling other people's products.

I suggest you do this, especially if you don't have a lot of money to start with.

Affiliate marketing is a really affordable way to get started. Once you start making some money from that, you can start investing your time making your own products.

Let's say I am selling an ebook, then why would anyone buy a $27 odd product with about 100 page word document ( just an example ) from a total amateur non-expert writer like me ? Can I sell fiction? ( I know I need a sales page )

You can sell anything you want, as long as people are willing to buy.

Go in with the mentality that everyone is an expert (or could be one) at something. And think outside the box.

Things that I, personally, might pay money for information on: An up-to-date and detailed travel guide to India (something I've been looking for for awhile now) with safety information and the like. Also, a list of no-cost volunteer programs in India. And even a great guide to yoga courses in India.

Take advantage of your unique position.

And $27 is heck of a money ( around Rs. 1700 according to current exchange rate ) according to Indian standards that somebody would spend on a book..

It may be a lot of money to someone in India, but you're not just selling in India. That's the biggest advantage of the Internet - you have a worldwide audience.

Yes, you can. But it's not going to happen overnight. And it's not going to be super easy. You're going to have to research, learn, and most importantly - IMPLEMENT. And that's going to go on for weeks, months, and maybe even a year.

But if you really aim to meet a need AND work at it diligently, $1K a month is very doable.

Any other ways to make money for me? I am not too high on money.. I can wait till I earn something with as low investment as possible.

Seriously, get started with affiliate marketing. It takes nearly nothing to get started and you can start bankrolling your own products once you have more experience.

You are approaching this with the best attitude. You are using your brain. The successful 5% of the actual successful people have had to get a 4 year degree equivalent education in internet marketing business. Whatever you do, do the research, and learn everything you can.

There are scammers out there, so watch out.
