Does ebay allow affiliate links in your own ebook?

Im about to upload my listings on ebay to sell a ebook ive created.

my thing is While looking at clickbank to get a good idea on what to right for sales copy, I just had an idea about recommending this at the end of the book
to that product through an affiliate link.

Is that a problem? cause if not then It it would explode my potential profits.

My ebook contains a ton of content, but at the sametime I legitimately find the clickbank product good as well.

any thoughts or experience??

    Jason,
I don't have much experience in ebooks on eBay, but I do have a good business running on Kindle, and as you said I've managed to drastically increase my profits by including affiliate links to products that I would be recommending anyway (I make guides, so recommending specific products is something I'd be doing anyway). As you said, don't stuff your books with ads, in fact, don't even put the sales copy in unless it's only at the very end.
An example of how I do it would be this:
(in an example guide about building WordPress websites):
One of the best features of WordPress and the reason it is used by so many web designers is it's easy customizable theme options. WordPress has literally thousands of themes, both free and paid, but if you are trying to build a website on [insert niche here], these are some of the best ones, both free and paid.
    Free:
[Example Free Theme]: This theme is one of the best free themes for WordPress, and is fine if you're just starting out and especially good for...
    Paid:
[My affiliate theme]: The theme that I use for my affiliate websites is [my affiliate theme], and if you have money to invest in a good theme this one has [insert benefits you've had from using it, with proof optimally]...
Lastly, I'd recommend you look into Kindle publishing with your book. Unlike eBay (which is actually downright hostile to ebook sellers often banning them for no reason other than they were selling eBooks [which eBay has been cracking down on]), Kindle is built for ebooks, and the readership is much higher and more engaged.
I hope all of this has helped you, and if you have any questions about Kindle or anything else I talked about feel free to PM me.
    Good luck!
    -Alex.

thanks alot man, thats great advice. Yea, i just finished a course for ebay and that whole affiliate thing just popped in my head.

thats why i love internet marketing, ideas just pop up and usually if you think it may work, it usually can.

yea im not listing under classified, doing it another way, so im emailing them outside of ebay. When i unlocked my sale limit i told them im just an author.

but yea man, kindling is my next move. I figured let me start with ebay 1st since i wanted to start small. ill buy some kindle wso's next after i get more experience with ebay.

Glad to hear you confirm your extra sales boost. im going to try that and see right now. going to re-edit the last part of book really quick so it sounds as if im talking to them and not 'selling'

      I have a question.

Is the Ebay still good channel to sell e-books?
Is it worth the endeavour seeing that Kindle is so dominant.

        No, it's not.

I mean, you CAN sell an eBook - but you have to actually sell a physical product on eBay. Meaning, it will need to be on a CD, and you'll need to send out a physical product.

You'll also need to be very clear in your descriptions that you're sending out a physical thing to the user as well.

However, the value you place on your items is usually not the value that others will place on it.

Most people go to eBay and buy eBooks to 'feedback pad' and are looking for the 1 cent items.

It's good for list building, but you're getting a lot of loss leaders from there.

Plus, 1 percent of 1 percent of 1 percent will actually read the eBook anyway.

Convert 2% of those on an upsell, and you've done pretty good. (sarcasm)

So, it's not a great place to sell eBooks, actually. Which, I think is a good thing. It keeps eBay a 'safe' place to buy and keeps buyers knowing they won't have 'viruses installed on their computer to empty out their Paypal account' if they buy from eBay.

Which is why they put the policy in place. It was the stigma.

Yes, interesting points above. That is why I posed the question because I know long time ago the e-book selling was apparent & popular on the Ebay, hence this thread caught my attention. It is very correct that physical tangibles bargain items is the main stay of Ebay. But the OP is spot on in embedding the links into his E-books, a well established sound strategy.

Of course you can have links in your ebook, but why should you waste your time trying to sell ebooks on eBay? People go to eBay looking for bargains.

You will have better results if you will publish your ebook for Kindle readers because Amazon helps you with the promotion.
