Paypal Issue: Error Sending Money

Is PayPal having an issue again?

I am trying to send money (less than $100) to a friend using the funds from my PayPal balance, and PayPal is not letting me! Why is that?

Anyone experiencing the same thing too? I stopped making another attempt because I fear paypal might slap my account by hitting the "limit" button.

    Paypal has good customer service, why not just call them and ask them what their issue is?

      I did sent them a ticket before posting this. Response will be within 24 hrs. I was just trying to see if anyone has also experienced the same issue during the week, because I never had this kind of issue for the past years of using paypal for sending and receiving money.

    What kind of error did you get when you tried to send it, or what happened?

    One possible error is that you don't have enough funds in the currency that you are trying to send. It doesn't matter if you balance is enough to cover it, the money has to be in the same currency.

      Error says: We can't complete your transaction at the moment. Please try again later.

      My first attempt was yesterday, and the other attempts was today. I am not sure what is happening. It's my first time to encounter such error.

      The account is a personal account, verified, but I removed the card in it, since I only use it when I need to transfer small amounts of money to friends. I have a business account that I use for my service here at the forum. I use my business account to transfer funds to my personal account when I need to use it.

      My secondary currency is dollars, and the primary is pesos. I tried sending the money in both currencies, but it still won't work.

      I am starting to lose patience with paypal right now, as they have limited my business account last week after receiving two consecutive payments from my clients. According to them, that is suspicious (I was like, WTH??!). I had to fax tons of papers to them, just to prove that the account is mine. Fortunately, the review process was quick and lifted my limit on Monday of this week. I am not sure if the limit that I had for my business account has something to do with the issue with my personal account now. If yes, then what is it this time? I've proven my identity already.

      I might consider another payment option now. I am starting to think that paypal is overreacting already.

    I had same issue with you once, but was only with 1 particular paypal account / email address. Tried to send to another account without any problem.

    It was for a small amount of cash for my local friend, so I never bothered to ask for support and transfer him the money via bank account instead.

      I called and I was put on hold for 30 mins before somebody answered (its expensive to call them, especially with international call charges since I am from ASIA). Customer service says I need to add a credit card or bank account. I don't know what's happening with paypal. It has been sitting there for two years already with a verified status, and I had no issues with it when sending money to someone. Anyway, I'll just try adding a credit card next week. Let's see what they'll do.

    if you have a verified paypal account with money in balance, maybe it`s an issue with your friend's paypal. Ask him if he can receive money from other sources.

      I'd also like to keep paypal since I've been using it for years already. But being a loyal customer doesn't seem to have a weight on them. They'll slap your account without any clear reason and they'll do that without a blink of an eye. I feel that all of the risks are placed on users.

      Like what I said earlier, I don't want to go through the tedious process of verifying your identity again. I am good knowing that my business account status is good with them. Moreover, I think 2CO accepts paypal as a payment option, so my customers can still pay via paypal. I just don't like keeping my money and withdrawing money from paypal again. Let's see when I am not as frustrated anymore.

    It's possible the hold is because you removed your credit card details. PP have been getting stricter with security matters. I suggest you give them a call. Don't bother about opening a ticket; it will take longer for your issue to be resolved.
