I've got to understand, why landing pages?

Yes, I know it may sound stupid as hell, but I really did not understand what's wrong with linking directly to the sales letter,

Do I not trust the seller to do his job and sell his product better than I can?
or is it about the domains?

anyway, I would appreciate it if anyone will be king enough to explain it.

thank you,
MM

Generally it's because people need 7 or more exposures to an offer before purchasing (or so it's said).

If you send them straight to the sales page they may not purchase (don't have time, get distratected, not convinced enough etc). However if you have them on a list you can continually follow up with more free information and further offers they may be interested in.

In turn bringing you a lot more cash in the long run.

Also preselling a product is very powerful. A lot of people won't buy a product online unless someone else recommends it to them, that's exactly what landing pages do.

    Hey Munk,
it is done to get the person
to start saying yes. and moreover to
    get him on your list.

These are the basic marketing concepts,
start reading marketing literature man, it will help
    you a lot!

Landing pages have a couple of advantages:

    1. They load faster because they are smaller.
    2. Give you an opportunity to collect leads.
    3. Help you to segment your initial appeal.
    4. Makes it easier to match your sales message with the advertising that got them there.
    5. Easier to test than a long sales letter.

Another advantage to a landing page is that it speaks directly to the customer and their needs.

Instead of smacking them in the face with absolutely everything you have to offer, you're appealing to their needs and can drill it down to a specific niche.

It's all about your target market. But your target market isn't "everybody" or even "women entrepreneurs."

It's more like "women entrepreneurs who work from home, want to expand their businesses, and need help with ______."

    A landing page is often a lead-generator - because
your prospect is in the emotional state of just having
pain and wanting an easy, instant solution, you present
a distillation of how you or your product can help him.

If your product is at all not-cheap you will have sales
resistance to overcome and your prospect will not (because
he wants easy and simple) want to read a long sales
letter which really explains a deep or complex offer -
because we know real solutions to real problems have
depth - you must meet him where he is, at the most
visceral level to capture his interest.

Then in follow-up marketing you can gradually lead
him to seeing your solution as the only viable option...
box him in so doing business with YOU is the only
reasonable option... and then it's just down to
a matter of WHEN he has the money and WHEN the
pain returns with enough intensity that he takes
    action and buys.

I bet you weren't expecting that kind of answer - and
it may seem a little far-out, but if you know how to
manage the follow-up strategy it is very powerful and
    basically knocks-out your competition.
