Article marketing - is this a good idea?

Most of my articles that are getting clicked on does not get views from the keywords I target but others instead.

Is it a good idea to?:

Backlinking: Use "these other" keywords in achor text when backlinking to my articles, that way I should at least keep the visitors for these specific searches If you know what I mean.

New articles: use these keywords to write new articles about.

What do you think?

    sure why not..

    I constantly look at my awat stats to see how ppl are getting to my sites, then create an article around those keywords

    I think you're saying that most of the traffic you get to your articles isn't through the keywords you targeted. That's true for me, too. And it's probably true for everybody.
    This is good, because it lets you broaden your keyword base.

    In other words, you're fine.

    yeah that´s what I´m saying

    But is it really necessary to create new articles around those keywords?, It just occured to me that if I do that I´m just competing against myself for my "first article" if you know what I mean...
