New Domain locked 60 days

I have just took the advice of fellow forum members and bought a domain at Go Daddy and got hosting at Hostgator, then tried to transfer the domain to hostgator only to be told its locked for 60 days. How do I get out of this and transfer. I would have bought the domain through hostgator if I`d Known.

You don't transfer the domain. You point it to your HostGator account.
So get yout HG nameserver addresses which look something like:
    ns1.hostgator.com
    ns2.hostgator.com
and add these to your GD account.

Not completely sure what you mean. Let's give it a try anyway:

I think you are now trying to transfer the domain.

All you need to do is point the NameServers to Hostgator.

    Hope this helps!

You can't transfer a domain from one registrar to other within 60 days of registering the domain. You don't need to transfer it to HG anyway, just point your domain to your HG nameservers and you are good to go.

It is not wise to keep your domain and hosting with a same company.
