I have some questions on PLR products

I have seen here that some marketers find good quality PLR and rip it up, re-write it, make it their own promote it and make good with it. I am sure this can be done with ebook PLR products. How would you do it with a video series?

Is this a decent way to get started marketing your own products?

Thanks
Scott

do you mean getting plr videos and changing them, or converting plr articles into videos?
I've never actually heard of plr videos....

Well PLR Videos do exist I run a website in which I offer converting PLR articles ( mainly audio ) into animated videos. Click on my signature to see some video examples.

If you buy video PLR just watch it, use it as a script, re-write the script, then record your own. More often than not I use PLR to get ideas. I just go to PLR sites, look at the titles of the articles then take those ideas and write my own, I do not see why this approach would not work for video as well

Well, it obviously much harder to change plr videos so they'll apear unique than changing a written plr.

I believe I would purchase a plr video series that comes with the base power-points presentation templates which were used in the videos, transcribe them and capture new videos using the templates with my own voice or paying for someone else's voice.

You'll end up with a unique branded vidoe series, and pdf files to enhance the total value.

Hi Scott - you have a few options here to create video products.

    1. You could buy a standard PLR pack with articles or eBooks and use the content to create your own video series. You'd use PowerPoint or KeyNote to create the slides using bullet points from the content, then use software like Camtasia to record the videos by voicing over the slideshow. This would take the most effort, but would result in the most unique video product.

    2. You could do as Chris has said and buy a PLR product that already has videos, but where the creator includes the base slides so you can just record the voiceover to make the video.

    3. You could buy PLR videos that are already completed and make them into your own product by simply adding a new introduction slide to brand it as your product.
To do this you would just create a new slide in PowerPoint and then import the slide and the video into an editor like Windows Movie Maker (installed on all Windows machines) iMovie (Mac), or Camtasia (paid).
Once you've imported both files you'd drag the intro slide into the start of the movie file, add a transition and save it. And you have a rebranded video that you can sell.

I had to go back and look they were MMR but can PLR be a good basis or start for creating your own product?

You'd have to check the rights for that specific product to see what you could do with the MRR before you sell it, but I think it's usually limited to adding your name/product name.

PLR is a great place to start creating your own product - essentially someone else has already done all the research for you and you just need to take the words and make them into your own product.

      Hi Scott,

Yes, each product should enumerate the rights that you have with that product. Also, there are numerous Products available that explain how to use PLR either as your own product to sell or offer free in return for subscribing to your list as well as any number of other ways to use PLR products.

That includes written content, video content, audio content, software and a whole host of products that can be used to make money, build lists and more. Sometimes it takes a lot of effort to get the product you want to promote as your own and sometimes you might find a ready made product to promote.

Do some looking around and you will come up with what you are looking for.

Thanks all I will look into all of this! I know that a lot of the PLR products don't get into the meat of the subject but I think they will give you a good start, get you going an outline at least. You can get the meat of the subject in there yourself !
I just wrote a seven page report to give away to my list when I start my email marketing campaign soon. All I need to do is make an ebook cover and get a few things up on my site then I will start building a list and will probably try to create a product using some good PLR as a base to get started.

I use plr products as free bonuses, or if I'm going to sell it I'll add on to it with my own products. If you get a video series then I'll add an e-book or report and audio files.

There are a couple of sites that offer PLR videos which you can then add a watermark, or you can insert extra video clips to make them more branded. You can also send the PLR videos to someone on Fiverr.com to have them add in an intro, or watermark them for you.

PM me if you need any more help on this.

Playing with videos will cost you more money, more effort, more time and technical considerations.
But if you want to test this then you must give it a try,

As regards a video series - do a Google Hangout and record yourself talking through the PLR material - benefit: instant upload to YouTube!

Also - once it is on YouTube, use FreeStudio (it's free, hence the name) to extract the MP3 file from your video and upload it as a podcast - hey presto - 1 piece of written PLR = One blog post, 1 Tweet, 1 Facebook share, 1 YouTube Video, 1 Podcast - and a chapter of your forthcoming book....

    Ya gotta like that!

One thing you might consider is using the PLR videos as a free resource for building your list and then build your product around expanding the subject matter in the PLR version. I find that many PLR products are good overview products, but don't get into the meat of the subject.

Another thing you may consider is using the videos as your resource for creating your own version of the same product. Record new videos in your own words and voice.

I agree - re: not getting into the meat of the subject.. this is a good piece of advice.
