Do flippa websites actually work?

I'm just curious, do websites such as: https://flippa.com/2970968-email-pro...t-7700-this-mo

actually work? There are pictures as proof, but I would like some reassurance.

Thanks!

I wouldn't touch this one with a 10ft pole. Classic MLM, if not Pyramid. Get a cookie cutter site to promote with cookie cutter ads like hundreds of others (if not thousands) in the program. You have to continually recruit more people into this to make money. If it is so easy and profitable, why would he sell for less than he claims to make in one month?

Yes indeed - I've seen this one before. All you say about it is exactly right. And I strongly suspect it can be only a matter of time before anyone using it has their PayPal account closed down, too, for breaching the terms of service.

What the heck. Why does flippa tolerate such scammers? I mean, I thought they have some sort of self-reputation, but I guess no...

It only takes 2-3 half-time employees with decent knowledge to "review" sites before they go live.

What about that one? What should I look out for if I would consider purchasing one of these websites?

I wouldn't really say it's common sense. For all I know, it's legit. Particularly regarding all the positive feedback he's received.

I don't mean it impolitely, I promise, but you have a problem there.

Part of the problem is that everyone who can discuss this helpfully with you, so that you can perhaps learn something about it, does think that it's common sense, and that's going to put off most of the people who could help from replying to you. Even I'm replying only because I'm such a mouthy chick. Seriously, if you don't think that's "common sense", then your way forward is to try to change your perception of "common sense", rather than to ask people for details about websites.

      Your premise is flawed.

In the sense that you're asking about, there's no such thing as a "Flippa website". Flippa doesn't manufacture websites. It's just a marketplace. There are good ones and bad ones. There are legitimate businesses and scams. There's no inherent commonality between the websites that people happen to list for sale at Flippa such that the description "Flippa websites" has any useful meaning or significance, within the context about which you're asking.

I think these kind of sites contain fake statistics. It is very tough to believe that a person is making $4833/Month but willing to sell it for $500+ only.

If you are really looking to buy websites through Flippa, you should go for natural, simple websites.

Alexa is exactly right. There's no such thing as a Flippa website. There are many sellers on Flippa selling websites. There are many scammers selling junk websites, there's some with fake statistics and fake screenshots. There are sites that are doomed because they rely on Google traffic or they are Pyramid schemes or they sell fake followers, which is against the TOS of most, if not all, social media sites and will be shut down sooner or later.

That's why I posted the article on due diligence. You need to learn to do that and get good at spotting a bargain... a legitimate business opportunity rather than a pie in the sky scheme with a short lifespan.

When I refer to flippa websites, I mean the websites sold on flippa -- understandable misunderstanding.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Hi, you are aware that the bounce rate for this site is 83.5%

And as for the business model...

You might as well apply to one of those ads in "The Enquirer" that claims you can make $1000/wk stuffing envelopes.

Like others here have stated buying sites on Flippa is fine, but do your Due Diligence regarding the seller of the site and the business model the site incorporates. And remember, if it sounds to good to be true...
    Then it probably is

Before buying anything from Flippa, use your mind and think. People don't sell websites which are making them $$$ at that rate.

The site you showed is bull. Flippa has a lot of scammers. If you do not know what you are doing I wouldn't buy anything from Flippa. To be honest chances are you will get scammed.

They do if they have a compulsive-selling problem and enjoy the Al Bundy lifestyle:

"I wanted to stick with this program to build a massive empire, but I have a small problem of building a business to making a few grand a month then selling. I also own a public shoe store that is doing pretty well so I really don't have time to be online ALL day, but I am very good at building an online business."

Flippa can work, but there's always the risk of it biting you. I have had more successful transactions on Flippa than failures and have made profit multiple times over, but I have also bought a couple of sites that turned out to be completely useless.

Some are easier to spot than others. Before even looking at any of the first auction, I notice the seller (who has since been suspended) is a new seller who is linked to two other sellers who are also suspended.

I actually purchased that e-mail processing gig a while ago, basically they give you ad copy to "duplicate" the entire site this then gives you resources for promoting it. It's basically a massive "loop" of people creating sites with the exact same type of content and info for sale so those people can in turn make the same site. The info provided is not terrible as it's a good source to advertise products or drive traffic but there really is not much behind it. The company got banned from using Paypal after being labeled as MLM.
