Do we share some sort of data?

I read the FAQ list but still don't get it.

This probably explains why I have no Facebook, MySpace, etc...lol.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't looked into adding Friends on this forum, but if you mean Facebook, yes it means exactly that: to add a friend and set up a profile.

On FB you can choose your security settings of who sees what, just only tell folks what you want known. I'm sure on here it's much the same. Someone wants to be your friend - I doubt it's anything sinister!

There are two ways to request a friendship with someone.
The easiest way is to view the profile page of the person you want to become friends with and click the 'Befriend' link.
The other way is to add the person to your contacts first. Then from your 'Contacts and Friends' page ask to be their friend by checking the box next to their name labelled 'Friend'. Next, save the page.
If you know the username of the person you want to be friends with you can send a friend request using the box provided and clicking 'Add Friend'.
To accept a friend, go to your 'Contacts and Friends' page. At the bottom of the page you will see a list of pending requests. Check the box for the requests you wish to accept then check the 'Accept' button and save the changes. If you do not wish to be friends then select 'Reject' instead.

Thanks, but I already read that.

What I wanted to know is what Benefit they get by asking to be a friend?

    Thanks

Good question actually.. I think they are just your buddies, and you can contacted easily. So its more like your address book... maybe I'm wrong, that's what I look at it as

LOL friends requests are just requests that you get from your other friends to be added to your profile on sites such as Facebook or Myspace etc...
