I recently outsourced articles and the writer said they would have the articles delivered by Thursday. It is now Sunday evening and I have not received the articles yet. I emailed the writer and she said that she mixed up her days and thought that Friday was Thursday but I still have not received the articles. I emailed her again yesterday but I have not gotten a response. Would you be annoyed yet? How would you proceed? I am new to outsourcing. I met this writer here at WF. Thanks in advance! |

I would start by just being patient. It is better not to rush your writer, otherwise you could end up with bad content. In the future, if you need something by a certain date, tell them you need it a week sooner than the actual date you need it. This will allow you to always get the work on time, and also time to request revisions if necessary. Lastly, if the content ends up being bad work, then ask for a revision or a refund. If they refuse to revise it or refund your money for not delivering what you asked for, then you can always leave feedback on their WSO. But ALWAYS make certain you try to work out with them beforehand. Quality work can take time and they may be backlogged. So try to be patient and work with them the best they can. If you are unhappy with the service then don't use them for a writer again. Consider it a lesson learned. Hope that helps. Dennis |

Sorry, but I expect people to deliver on their word. That's what I do in business and we should hold one another accountable. She said she'd have them on Thursday and she should have them. End of story. I would give her one more day and then respectfully and diplomatically give her an ultimatum. If she doesn't deliver, you're outta there. You deserve to work with a professional. A "true" professional will have high standards and do their best to deliver on their promises. She should have contacted you by now with a follow-up. She's had plenty of time.

You really need to lay down the law as to when you say you need something you should get it at that point. But it is also important to make sure you are getting good quality work done out of your people. So give her work much ahead of time and tell her you need it a day or two before you actually do need it, so if she delays you still have gotten it on time.

If she promised a delivery date she needs to stick to that date, unless there is a emergency of some kind..your time is just as valuable as hers..Who is she?

Just wanted to let you all know that I received the articles. Outsourcing is like subcontracting. It is when you pay someone to do something for you that you find to time consuming or difficult or you just don't want to do it yourself. |

Kirahster, I think you're pretty much paying the normal price for outsourcing. It saves you loads of time, and helps you make more money in the long run, but it means you have to rely on someone else, and they might let you down. If you didn't like the service you got, move on to someone else. Soon enough you should find someone who you can build up a proper working relationship with. When you do, don't let them go! |
