I've noticed all of my sites lose 50% or more traffic on the weekends. I'd think that when people are home, they'd be all over the internet. I totally understand why some of my sites tank on the weekend based on their niche (like office supplies), but others I'd expect to pick up (like dating).

In terms of dollars, any single weekday makes more than both days combined on the weekend.

Just wondering if any of you warriors have sites that spike on the weekends then drift lower during the week? Or is it pretty much steady as she goes for you?

I've noticed lower activity on the weekends as well, so I figure perhaps weekends are more likely spent doing activities with the family rather than the internet.

Ok. So you know there is a problem with weekends. Simple solution. Fix it.

If you know that traffic drops dramatically on the weekends, then you need re-structure your approach to the content. If traffic drops on the weekend, then come up with some major incentives for people to visit your site on the weekend.

You could do this by running weekend only contests, polls, giveaways, etc. Just really depends on the niche, but the general idea is give them a reson to need to visit your site on the weekend. The key thing to remember is make certain whatever it is that you use to drive traffic on the weekends is specifically restricted just for the weekends.

    Hope that helps.

Weekends have notoriously been slow for us for many years. Dennis, I like your optomistic thinking!
