Looking for an opinion (and advices)

Hello ALL!

A newcomer here... you can tell.

I'm slowly but surely starting on the affiliate marketing world but i'm also selling my own product.

I plan on publishing my website where I sell my music compositions/instrumentals/beats all through the ClickBank vendor process.

Using affiliate marketing techniques, my goal is to increase the traffic toward my website but I also want to involve affiliates in the process and help makes everybody some money (me by selling, affiliates by promoting of course).

So my question is:
Is it a niche that has some potential and that would be attractive to affiliates to promote ?
As experts, have you already seen similar ventures ? How did they go ?

Its not that I won't start my website if the market is non-existent, I will do it anyway because selling my music is something I carry on my heart but I would like to know how I should carry my marketing campaign thanks to the affiliate feedbacks.

I hope my question has been clear enough, if not, appologies.

Thanks in advance for your feedbacks.

    Welcome Maluson,

I wish you the very best with your Internet marketing experience.

Just to be clear, and to help you as you begin your study of Internet marketing, let's define some terms regarding your plan to make money as it seems to me that you have some confusion here.

Your niche is the space you carve out of the larger overall music market. Your audience will be those whom your music appeals to and those who have an interest in purchasing your "music compositions / instrumentals / beats."

Your product is the music itself that you create.

Affiliate marketing is the method or strategy you have chosen to sell/market your products.

Clickbank is the marketplace that you plan to focus on for distribution of your product.

I do not have any experience selling music on Clickbank. And while there may be some affiliates on Clickbank that have sold music before, it seems to me that there might be a better and more focused marketplace for this type of product and the affiliates that would support it.

But the only way you will know if Clickbank works for you is to try it, test and track your campaigns, and analyze the results.

    Good luck,

    Steve

I have to wonder as well, if clickbank would be a good place to sell.

Sounds to me (guessing), that selling per beat might be the best way to go? Kind of like itunes selling songs. Unless you have another plan of how you want to sell them? If that is the case, clickbank is not the best way.

There are other platforms to sell music, or per download. Might want to research those as well.

And if your not there yet, the new MySpace, might be a great place to promote your beats. Just a thought.

Or you can try to tie up with current people who are already selling music on Clickbank (Beats360 I think) and offer one beat as a bonus in exchange for people to subscribe to your email list.

Then you can piggyback on a market that is ready - plus build a name for yourself.

I believe that you may have a hard time breaking into this niche. If you are selling your own music and beats that people can't get anywhere else then I think the best way to get the traffic you need is to leverage the traffic from a bigger player.

Sell your beats on amazon or Itunes something like that just point them back to your site for exclusive stuff.

Once you build yourself a reputation within the niche you should spread across the net fast. That is the beauty of IM if you can capture a niche that wants what you have and then leverage their love for that to get them to share it with others you can go what they call Viral and spread across the net fast.

As far as clickbank goes I like your thoughts on having affiliates I just am not sure clickbank would be the correct choice.

Once again you want to leverage the traffic of the affiliate company you choose. Clickbank is not known as a music source. That could be a big problem for you I am not sure.

You want a place where the affiliates are looking for music products. I wish I had good one to tell you but this is way outside of my niche. I would think Itunes or amazon would be good to get started and they will have affiliates looking for music products.

If anyone knows any good companies that run affiliate programs in the music nich post it here it will be a ton of help..

Anyways I think you can do this. Just make sure you have a good plan to succeed from the start. You are thinking about the right things. One other thing I would think of is where are the people that want what I got. If your beats are for R&B or something like that you will want to niche down to the genre it will help you go viral more easily.
