Exciting day for me..

Hey warriors,

When was the last time you got this feeling? I just logged into my clickbank account to check my stats and to my surprise I had my first sale! And it's not a bad commission unlike my amazon affiliate account!

The thing is though, I'd like your advise..

My link (which is connected to an image) is on my blogs side bar so it's not highly targeted, but it still relates to the content.

Does anyone have success using this method? I can't afford ppc to drive traffic to a page at the moment, but hope to once I start getting some profits in.

I just want to be able to make these sales a regular thing and not one sale here and there. For me, starting out in this game, 1 sale a week is my target.

Anyway thanks for any opinions you might have!

    @fitnesschap,

    Congrats, my friend.

1 sale/week can be easily achieved. You mentioned you only promote on your sidebar. Well, scale it up by finding other places to promote (your content, your list...etc).

The most popular formula to follow is:
    1. find a product to sell. either create it or promote one as an affiliate.
    2. set up a website targeted for people who want to buy that product.
    3. entice visitors to submit email address for newsletter.
    4. promote the product within your site's content and also use an email autoresponder to send series of newsletters promoting it.
    5. set up a traffic campaign to get visitors to your website who want to buy that product (targeted traffic).
    Hope this helps!

    Hey mate,

s a big day when you realize this this intenet marketing game isn't just one big scam but does really work !

The truth is though, Internet Marketing is really only about two things...

    Traffic and Conversions

If you are using a blog to attract traffic then you should be writing article about that particular offer in adding links directly to your article. Doing this will ensure that your link is as targeted as possible and you will be providing value to the reader which is what it is all about when trying to make sales.

I would suggest leaving the banner where it is, but using this strategy should increase your click through rate and hopefully get you more sales.
    Hope this helps my friend....

Thanks for your awesome info mate, it's a nice feeling when things start paying off! yeah I guess that makes sense. I suppose the challenge for an article for a product would be getting it ranked.

I think I'm getting better with SEO and can rank articles quite well! Ill give it a go. Are you a click bank user yourself if you don't mind me asking?

Good job on the first sale dude. Now you know that magic is possible!

To answer your question though, having a link on the sidebar is fine, but you should strive to build an email list, and drive traffic to your blog from there. It's a reliable and proven marketing model. I would hate to see you get 5,000 visitors in one month, and only 2 people buy... whereas you could start your list, get 500 subscribers, and convert them into 5-10 sales. It's up to you though... congrats on the first sale.

Hey man thanks for your reply, it made me think,

I've heard a lot of guys say build a list and then email people your offers. I tried this once, but probably wasn't doing something right. Just out of interest and maybe your experience, do you think having the opt in box on the side bar would be a good idea and also at the end of each post? Or would having it at the end annoy people?

Just wondering cod I've never really read anything about the 'sign up here' box placement on a page!

Your advice is extremely appreciated man!

I am working on this now, I hope to have mine up and running soon. My understanding is: Offer a product of value, once a person is on your mailing list, keep offering good content and value, in time you can offer your own paid products or other people's products that could further help them on their journey.
        Best wishes
