6 months of my life??? any suggestions please

hi guys,

Dave here, ive had a really rough time of it lately and am after a little advice.

the last 6 months have been an absolute nightmare and ive not really spoken about the problems ive had as i find it hard to talk about them. Then it struck me that i should write them down to get them out of my system so i can move on and put it allbehind me. I plan to write a book telling this story of what i have gone through and think that i might launch it to kindle so that what i have gone through is not for nothing and hopefully nobody who reads it will fall into the same traps as i have.

i am looking for somebody to assist me in writing my book. maybe somebody here or possibly someone here knows of somebody who may be able to help. There are a lot of personal issues in this story so it would need to be somebody who can handle a situation delicately and help me get my story across. Like i say i just want to tell my story and if it helps just one person then i would be happy. I am a fairly competant writer myself but really dont kno where to begin in documenting the evnts.

any assistance that anybody here could givee would be greatly recieved.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

ps. apologies for any typos, i wrote this on the ipad.

Hey mate a problem shared and all that!!

If I was you, I would just buy one of the better selling WSO's in here on kindle publishing and crack on with it yourself. It's not really that hard and you seem to be able to write well enough.

If the content is good enough, people will buy it and perhaps learn a little too.

    Good luck matey

    Dave,

There are a lot of freelancer sites where you can find ghostwriters, book writers for hire, etc. You should be able to find someone you can work with for a fee. Be sure to filter your request so that you get a writer proficient in the type of writing that you're after. You don't necessarily want a copy writer, a technical writer, etc. Advertise for someone proficient in autobiographies or that sort of thing. You might also specify you are looking for someone who speaks English as their native language.

    Good luck to you,

    Steve

i have looked through the wso section and have even brought a few but all of hem seem to concern themselves with promoting an existing book notthe creation of a new one. other than that they just seem to tel you how to paste load of aricles together and call it a book as opposed to writing ones own story or journal as it were. unless maybe ive missed a wso somewhere that does go into this sort of thing. especially the stucturing of a book like this.

in terms of hiring a freelancer elsewhere i had looked down this line but really dont have the finances to do so at present, mainly because of what ive gone through so was hoping to partner with somebody who would be happier to accept royalty payments as opposed to an up front fee.

Good luck with that. Other than friends and family, most people do not like to work for free.

I'm sorry to hear of your "life's challenges." Take heart when I say that "it will get better in time." I'm sure it has subsided a little already or you would not have written this on the forum board.

I used to tell my students that no one writes "experience" like the one who experienced it. I would recommend you have a go at it yourself. The product will end up speaking/reading "authority and perspective, depth and emotion." A short cut:
.make a list of the points you want to address-each one will represent a chapter. Shoot for 150-200 words a night. In four months you can finish this book, if you are dedicated.
.you can start at either end of the timeline: beginning or end
.Remember the narrative is a first person account. It's a memoir. 85%
of all books sold world-wide are self-help and memoir.
.Stay on task and don't stop until you are done!!
When you are done writing, then it will be time to find an editor. I would also suggest you send out each completed chapter, right away, to a trusted friend for review; preferably a friend who is an avid reader. There are subtle nuances of creative writing that only avid readers and writers will catch. Good luck!

I used to end each semester with this saying for my students:
"Writing can be fun. Writing can be painful. And writing can always be both."

Are you saying you plan on writing a Kindle book about negative experiences relating to trying to run an online business?

I'm sorry you've hit some brick walls. Did you look into doing something you enjoy that's also in a niche where money can be made, vs. just going after something because it supposedly pays alot? Because unless you're doing something you're passionate about, it's a recipe for disaster.

As far as the idea for a Kindle book, I'm sorry but I don't if that would really have appeal enough to make you sales. If you want to write a book for Kindle, you'd be much better off by writing about a subject you enjoy talking about. Just make sure there's already a decent amount of other books on the subject; competition is usually a great sign that money is being made.

Kindle is almost always going to make you money, and it's one of the easiest things you can do online. I wish you the best.

    thank you,

thats very helpful advice, perhaps ill give it a shot, im just not sure where to start, aybe like you say if i brainstorm it and get some chapters down first that might help.

not sue about the editing though, i dont really have anyone that would do that for me.

i guess i should start with a preface?? a bit about my life before all ofthis happened?

    thanks

no, the book is not connected to online marketing at all, its a series of eventsthat have happened in my personal life, but i wont go into too many details. Its essentially a story about how ive had everything taken away from me by a con artist who made out she loved me, just to take everything ihad and then disappeared.
theres more to it than that, but thats the story in a nut shell, the situation came to an end 2 months ago, and im only now in a position i feel i can share these thoughts, and it will be several years before im able to become stable again.

thats the story, and i think its something that people would buy into if i write it correctly, thats why im looking for assistance from somebody with experience. like i said in a previous post, id be happy if this just stopped one other person making the mistakes i did 8 months ago

    Did you find solutions?

Talking about your problems in order to present your example as an example to be avoided is not a way to help others. They can read the newspapers and find many other cases they should avoid imitating.

i wouldnt say that i found solutions as such, but now that i have seen the light s it were, i can see exactly howit all came about and how i was played, so yes i think i am in a suitable position to conclude this book with how to avoid falling into the same traps, and the very fact that im still here to tell my story speaks volumes in itself, because for a time i didnt think i would carry on

You have to make a plan. You have to prepare a happy end for your sad story by finding the right solutions. Your book will be really helpful thanks to the solutions you will present to your readers.

You should make a research and talk about how to be happy in a relationship, and then write your own conclusions about this matter, after reading what others have said, and after relating this knowledge to the lessons you have learned because of your bitter experiences.

Tell your readers how you will behave for now on because now you are wiser, and now you know how to have a perfect love relationship. Everyone wants a positive message in the end.

thank you, that makes a lot of sense, thats got me thinking on how to stucture it now, initially i was going to summarise how i am moving on and what i have learnt at the end of the book, but now im thinking slightly diffeently.

as the book will be written looking back at what has happened to me, perhaps i can write in in heind sight and tell the readers what i have now discovered about each situation as i am going through the story.
ie. in the middle of march we recieved bad news that her nan had passed away ....... i have since discovered that all of his was a twisted lie and i should have realised at the time because of xyz..... but in future i now know to look out for ..... a coupplle of weeks had passed and .... happened ..........

Wha do you think, or would it be better to just leave all of my discoveries till the end of the book in a conclusion to the events and how id avoid going through the same thing again??

Ah....women. Is the story about how she "conned" you or about how you let her? Just curious of the angle.

I would just download a similar book that sells and make a similar structure.

I think that writing such a book will be very cathartic for you and assist with the healing process/moving on. At some stage in life nearly everyone gets fleeced in one way or another. It happened to me when I was 16 in Puerto Rico playing the "Tile Game". It was only after the event I realised this was a well-organised con aimed at tourists. Some people are 'easy marks' - they are great people, trusting of others (usually seeing just the good in people as is so often the case early on) and a relationship presents itself with a perfect opportunity to become emotionally invested and fall prey to someone that is looking for the next victim. Just remember, your past is not your future and every Phoenix rises from the ashes. Every dog has its day and karma does eventually get these people back (by which time you won't even care). Best, Dean.

Sorry about your misfortune. I've dealt with a ton myself this year!

But anyway, with your book, my recommendation is if you are going to have a strong solution to either avoid or fix what has happened to you, then make it a non-fiction book. But, if you don't have a strong solution, and it's more along the lines of "I'm doing better now", then perhaps making this a fictional book based off of your story is a better route to take. Reason being is because everyone is different. YOU may have gotten over it, but someone else may have a more difficult time. This is why I mentioned a STRONG solution. The stronger it is, the more likely it could work for ANYONE.

That being said, don't let that stop you if you can't provide a strong solution. Turn your story into a fictional book with an awesome revenge plot instead!

      You could call it:
Revenge Of The Double Crossed Lover
