Some personal help would be amazing !

I don't know exactly where to begin ! I found this site recently and have been on it nonstop with trying to learn as much as I can to better myself. I have always been inspired by individuals making a career out of internet marketing and so forth.

I think my strongest talent is sales and convincing someone to purchase things , maybe not so much with online but def in person. Everyone I meet in person says I'm a dam good people person and would do amazing in the field . With that being said , some how is like to bring thing into the world of internet marketing .

I believe sports and anything to do with it would be my strong point and also writing ! I've envisioned myself starting a site someway or another and giving sports news or also doing weekly picks for sports through articles and videos .

That's one idea , another is doing some sort of website that just attracts attention and then use that attention to get individuals to purchase a product . Here is where I'm stuck because I don't know where to go from here.

It seems the more I read the forums the more I'm getting confused with information , feels like I'm in a supplement store with millions of supplements saying thousands of things. I'd appreciate any help to get me started ! Even if you read this I appreciate your time !

    A few quick things here:

    1. Get into something you're genuinely interested in. Don't chase money. But, something very important to remember about this is that it should intersect with a market there's a lot of money in.

    2. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. Once you find your "thing", really look at sites that are already doing it. Look at them closely, and see if you can do anything better. If you can, you can compete. All you have to do is just one thing better.

    3. You really need to get targeted traffic-that's one of the most important keys to success in internet marketing.

    4. Make sure you understand the different ways your going to get people to your site in advance before you set anything up. This is very important.

You mentioned getting alot of people onto a site that attracts a lot of attention, and then trying to sell them a product. That won't work unless it's something very closely related to the reason they're on your site. Example, don't try to sell a weight-loss product to golfers!

It sounds like you enjoy sports. There's a lot of money in that market, so what you need to do is look into how people are already making money on the subject online and find something you can do too. Remember, a ton of people may already be doing a certain thing, but if there's something they don't do very well, that's your way in.

One quick tip, when you're writing anything, try to practice writing in short lines of text instead of one huge block. It makes people want to read what you say more because it doesn't look so intimidating.

Don't be too impatient to take off just yet. Instead just take a while and really find out just what it is that you want to do. Also, ask yourself the reason you're wanting to do it. Don't let money be your only motivation, or you're likely to fail.

Edit: I can't believe I forgot to say this. Once you start working towards something, don't stop for any other thing just because it looks like you'll make more money. Just keep holding on.

    Hi Ccitrano,

    With regards to internet marketing,
you will have more success if you "bring value to the table"
rather than approach it from the "convince some one to purchase" angle.

Although it is still sales what you are doing online, it is a different approach
    to face to face.

As you don't have the luxury of your potential customer
    in front of you online.

And therefore interpreting their responses as they "read your pitch/sales page"
is a new skill for you to learn.

But definitely take the skills you already have and jump in and go for it.

Be prepared to learn, and act on what you learn,
then see what happens, then learn again.

For me making a sale face to face used to Rock!

But it is nothing compared to making a sale, to some one I have never met,
or spoken to and lives on the other side of the planet.

    All the best with it.

I know someone who does quite well with a tennis blog.
You could try setting up a blog around your sport and use something like Twitter to build your audience. Once you have a good readership you can start promoting affiliate products.

You have to prove that you can be trusted if you want to make sales. You have to do many things to have a good social image and inspire confidence. You also have to give a lot of free information to your visitors.

This tells me you are already very comfortable with people you've never met before. so here are some of my suggestions.

    - join social media groups (facebook, google+) and start interacting so that people know who you are.

    - do some videos and/or start a youtube channel to introduce yourself and provide some valued information.

    Cheers
