Newbie Here and Need Help With New Site

Hello All, I am new to WF and to running a website. I just purchased a site off of Flippa concerning funny things we all have done. People are supposed to submit funny things they believe we all do and I can choose whether to post it or not. The site is very plain looking but I loved the concept for it's entertainment value to those that visit. I have nothing to sell as yet because I don't know what would sell. How do you get visitors to tell their friends about my site? I have no traffic as of now but the previous owner put it on reddit for 1 day and had over 275 visitors. Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Does the site currently get any traffic? Funny pictures sites typically work best in social media circles. Make sure users who visit your site are able to share to Facebook, twitter, etc..

    Hey my friend, there are several ways you can monetize this. You can do google adsense, media buys (banner ads etc.), affiliate products, upgraded membership to your website... however, the main thing you need to do first is get eyeballs. If you have the audience, the rest is pretty easy to do.

    How you get people to share your website is you make it easy for them. Tell them "sharing is caring" and/or "share the love" and have links to social media sites on every page or gig so they can easily share funny or cool posts.

    The other thing is, is your site remarkable? If you have a killer concept people will share it just because it rocks. If you're website is unique, fun and different, they will share it if you provide the opportunity.

    Hello, you should also try different forums and blogs, find a website with the same niche signup and make postings. Some sites will allow you to leave a link back to your site for their members to visit.

    I am such a newbie I feel silly answering your question, but I don't know if it has any traffic. It is doubtful though. On each funny thing we all do it has tweet, like, send and g+1, whatever that means lol! When I put my sites name into google it came up on twitter and a couple of other sites but I was never given access to them and even if I was I wouldn't know how to use them. I really appreciate the questions concerning my dilemma and appreciate the good advice.

      I really like the idea of posting on forums etc. but what kind of niche places should I be posting on? My site I believe is in a niche all on its own? It has to do with funny things we all seem to do or have done in our life like... We all as a child have slowly tried to close the refrigerator door to see how the light turns off. Have any suggestions what forums might be good for me to post on? What might I say on a forum post? I really want to learn and appreciate all the help.

    There are a lot of meme/funny image sites floating around Facebook so consider setting a fanpage up for it on there. You can do share for share with other funny pages to get your page known, and make sure to include the site link with every funny photo you post.
