Can anyone please help, had thus message from godaddy, been using a free template for a mates carpentry site but now not working. If anyone can give me a simplified way of rectifying it would be massively appreciated. This is the message:
We have detected that your domain ashcarpentry.me.uk is associated with
a web site that may contain malware. Your site is listed on the Google(R)
malware list and people visiting your site are being notified by their browsers
that your site is not safe to be viewed. If the code being detected is not yours,
you will need to review your site to determine how the code was uploaded to
your site. If you are using a content management system (such as WordPress
or Joomla) you should update it to the latest version to ensure any security
holes are closed. If you remove the code without determining how it was
uploaded to your site, there is a very strong possibility that it will simply
be replaced by whoever initially uploaded it.

You may learn more about malware at http://www.stopbadware.org/.
Google works to provide the most accurate and up-to-date malware information.
However, it cannot guarantee that its information is comprehensive and error-free:
some risky sites may not be identified, and some safe sites may be identified in error.

Once you have determined how it was uploaded and you have removed the
malware, the owner of the site can submit a request to Google to have your
site re-scanned via the Google webmaster tools. Please note that we cannot
remove the warning or have your site rescanned as we are not the owners
of the Web site.

As a reminder please ensure you are always:

- Using a strong password (at least 8 characters containing
uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols).

- Keeping any applications you have installed on your site updated.

- Running anti-virus and malware checkers on your local machine.

- Keeping your local machine up to date with the latest patches.

If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to
contact support at (480) 505-8877.

Sincerely,
GoDaddy

Thanks again in advance guys and gals

Did you call GoDaddy? I usually find their customer support very helpful and it gets fixed faster on the phone.

has your code changed? do you have extra files? google is detecting malware coming from your site so you need to check your files to see which ones have changed recently. sometimes you can do this from cpanel by looking at the changed on date in the file manager. if all of your templates are from godaddy then someone found a exploit and injected something into your code. you may have to reload at least some of your site. I would call godaddy first and see if they have seen any unusual behaviour from your site its a great starting point.

Good luck with your problem. My guess is that greg80221 is correct. First thing I would do is change all the passwords. All passwords. Then I would go into c-panel and start looking for any extra .php files. These are normally redirect scripts to spam sites. Viagra, testosterone, porn and those kinda sites. If you find a php file you don't recognize you can just right click and read. Look for a url and copy and paste the url into another window and see where it takes you. If it isn't your site then delete the .php file.I would do this on every site you have in that account. It's rare that you find this issue on just one site. Not sure if this is your problem but it is a good start and this is what I did to solve my problems.

Also I have seen a link in Google Webmaster Tools to check for this type of issue but I have never used the link so I don't know how well it works.

        Been there, done that.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.
