Nothing matters unless you do this

you could be given the best training in the world, you could be given the best resources, and traffic training in the world.

You could be taught by super millionaires, you can create the best content in the world, none of that is going to matter unless you master the art of CONSISTENCY

Consistency is king

I cant tell you how many times that a coaching client has told m they need to focus 100% on free traffic.

They create 3 pieces of content, email in and say they haven't made a sale yet.... Face Palm... Seriously???

Even with paid traffic you have to continue to buy it consistently, you have to follow up consistently...

Business is a growing process, you start small and continue to grow and pick up momentum over time..

I like to tell the story of the Bamboo tree

You take a little seed, plant it, water it, and fertilize it for a whole year, and nothing happens.

The second year you water it and fertilize it, and nothing happens.

The third year you water it and fertilize it, and nothing happens. How discouraging this becomes!

The fifth year you continue to water and fertilize the seed and then---take note. Sometime during the fifth year, the Chinese bamboo tree sprouts and grows NINETY FEET IN SIX WEEKS!

SO the question is, did the tree grow 90 feet in 6 weeks, or 5 years?

This is how you have to approach your business, you have to keep watering and fertilizing even though you may not see any noticeable results right away.

IF you stop for any period of time, you'll have to start over...

SO remember, above all else, consistency is king...

Well you got me to click this topic just from your title... Not that I disagree, but I just had a quick point:

While consistency is good, as you've pointed out, I don't think all the examples you make are actually true.

Here's the brilliance in my eyes: Websites (say landing pages) look identical to visitor 1 and visitor 1000000. If you were browsing my landing page, you would have no idea of knowing if you were the first visitor, or the millionth. You wouldn't have any idea if you were the only person looking at my website ad that exact second, for all you know, there could be another 1000 people looking at the same page.

What point am I trying to make? A website will operate exactly the same to each and every person you drive to your site, but having more (or less) at any point in time won't affect your sites ability to serve them.

A good example, think of going to a shopping mall. Some stores are packed, and some are dead. Which one would you rather shop in? See where I'm going with this? Since your website doesn't represent a brick and mortar location, this does not apply.

I think a more important point in the world of internet marketing is scalability. If you can make $5, you could do that 1000x and have $5000. Obviously there may be a lot of work involved in each $5 you are making, but the brilliance with this ideology if that if you can find a method that works, I think the next question is: Is it scalable? Can it be repeated easily and quickly and for less costs?

Now scalability and consistency fall hand in hand, but I think it's an important point to make as well.

Sorry to hijack your thread, just my thoughts.

    Hi Nick,

"SO remember, above all else, consistency is king.."

I enjoyed reading your post. It was a very helpful reminder to me.

I have learned so much from you about doing business online.

For one thing, I have learned how to be successful at being an
affiliate of any product. And mark you, "successful" is a relative
word at this point and time. ;-)

But, my failure over the years was caused primary by my inconsistency.

For the life of me, I never could never stick with any one time for any good
period of time, before I shoot for the next "shiny objects" like everyone
    has been talking about.

Anyhow, I am doing better, because of some of the online business principles
you have taught right here in this forum.

    Thanks a million, my friend.

Keep up the great work. believe it or no, you are helping to rescue many
of us from ourselves. We have become our worst enemies to the success
    of our online business attempts.

    Thanks again, Nick.

Thank you! This thread reminded me how important it is to continue.
Its like building links for every day 90 days and nothing happens, you site is not getting traffic. then on day 91 the site suddenly gets into top 5 and is getting loads of traffic. If you know this, of course you will not stop after 80 days.
Scalability and consistency do not contradict each other, they are both very important.

Consistency is only one cog in a mighty big wheel. Your post would have got more hits and replies if you'd included some of the other cogs that make the IM wheel turn. Just saying.

    Great post!

Consistency and persistence is truly an important part of your business.
I can't help but to jump from 1 method to another method. I used to treat
    Internet Marketing as a hobby

But since I establish a reputation on Fiverr, That is like a real business to
me... and I will have to deliver orders as soon as it comes in. Everything
    becomes automatic.

Consistency + hard work + IQ + luck = SUCCESS.

Yes, i think luck also plays an important role in this formula. If you put all you work in the wrong method, you´re DOA.
