I have some pretty good domains within my portfolio that I'm deciding on whether to keep or sell. I'm currently doing research and was wondering, excluding Flippa, what are the best places to sell domain names? I was in domaining before (a few years ago), but the main site I use to use closed down. I'm considering getting back into it.

Try the forum of DP where you can meet potential clients and believe me they are serious buyers.

It doesn't much matter where you sell domain-names: your income from it will always depend on how good you are at promoting them.

Here's the truth (which nobody likes hearing, and some try to deny): domain-names have no real value above and beyond their registration-fees. What they're "worth" depends on what you can sell them for. And I mean "what you can sell them for". The amount of money they produce, on sale, depends on the skills of the person selling them at identifying, approaching and negotiating with potentially interested parties.

The huge mistake that people typically make, in disposing of domain-names, is approaching it as a question of "Where should I sell it?" For most domain-names, the answer to that question is "It doesn't matter": what matters is how you go about notifying the potentially interested parties (to whom it may have artificial "value") of its availability and negotiating with them. If they don't even know that it's for sale, then it makes no difference where the sale takes place.

The biggest sales platforms geared to end users, free to list as many domains as you'd like, and pay only a small percentage of sale when an actual sale takes place:
    Sedo.com
    Afternic.com

Domainer Forums for quick wholesale sales, to sell for pennies on the dollar:
    NamePros.com
    DNforum.com

Flippa is better suited for income generating websites, not unused domain names. It costs $29 for each listing, so unless you're sure it will sell within the short listing timeframe, it's just too risky to list many domains there.

Read Alexa's post above this one. It's spot on.
