9.3% Conversion Rate & Unfinished Sales Copy!

I launched a new product yesterday. I hadn't finished the
sales copy, there were a couple of bugs in the RAP set up,
but I managed to get 40 sales in the first 18 hours. That
represented a 9.3% conversion rate.

I'm in the process of setting up a split test. I want to know
for sure if the element that was missing from the sales copy
has actually increased the sales conversion rate.

I'll let you know when I have some results for you.

In the meantime, can you guess what I missed off the sales
copy?

Just to cause a stir, I'm hoping for the headline to be the missing part ...

I'd be tickled pink if it was the entire second half of your copy that was left out. Why? Because it would mean one can make sales without all the wobblegob you see everywhere these days.

But that's only the idealist in me speaking. For the record, I'll guess you left out the request to buy?

          Payment button

          Ok, I will be serious.

I am thinking you might of achieved that awesome conversion rate with a video?

          What about price?

I mean did you mention the price on the sales page?

If not they would have to click through to the payment screen to see the price!

          Ok I give up!

          Awesome work though!

I'm trying to think what you could possibly have been OK with to initially miss off.

          Mmm...

          Testimonials, yeah possibly...

          Headline, suppose so...

          I know...

I probably know what product it is John. And I know what exactly is missing too.

People just sometimes need to check what's there in signatures... Wait, did I say too much?

I'm trying to figure out your formula for this 9.3% conversion....

As near as I can see, it works out to this:

desired product + dirt cheap price + highly targeted audience - headline - risk reversal = 9.3% conversion

I wonder how much better conversions would be with a rock solid risk reversal and a headline....
