Can you recommend a comprehensive IM course / mastermind group / mentor for business owners?

Hi everyone:
I am a small business owner and actually own 2 profitable businesses - one is a performing arts school for children - teaching children how to become dancers/singers/actors/tumblers/performers, and the other is managing a performing arts theater - producing broadway musicals and selling tickets to everyone in the area.
I didn't start out that way. I have a degree in Computer Engineering and was a web developer for 15 years.

During that time, my wonderful wife and I built up her performing arts school to the point where I could leave my developer job and focus on building the school business. Since then, she started the theater business and it is growing into a success.

I'm ready to get into the IM world. I have a technical background, a bit of offline marketing experience, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

I like the idea of list building around a niche and coming up with my own information product. If I can somehow figure out if there is a money-making niche related to the performing arts online (although I'm not tied to that - I might actually enjoy changing pace with another niche)

I have a strong feeling that I can do well with IM if I can find the right mentor / mastermind group / comprehensive IM course. This is exactly how we built up our last 2 businesses - by using a mentor and belonging to a mastermind group.
I wonder if any of you good people on this forum can point me in the right direction. I've already seen recommendations for Chris Farrell, Jeff Walker's PLF, and Brendon Burchard's Experts Academy. I just looked at Chris Farrell's introductory videos, and it all makes sense to me.

Just wanted to get a forum post's worth of free advice before I start down my journey.

Thanks!
Marc

I'm not a successful internet marketer, but I use everything that Steve Pavlina from Personal Development for Smart People - Steve Pavlina says as my guide as to how to successfully approach making money from an online business. Two of his recommended products are "getting rich with eBooks" and "Site build it".

I personally have purchased the eBoooks program because I have always had an interest in writing. Was it worth the $497 that I paid for it? I'd say yes simply because it led to me writing several eBooks and creating my own website. However, I've come to find that I ended up doing A LOT more external research on my own. I don't think I would have even begun my search had I not purchased the course though. I wouldn't have even known where to start looking.

As for SBI (site build it!), it has lots of excellent reviews, especially from Steve Pavlina. It teaches you how to build a niche website by doing prior market research, learning to build traffic, then monetizing the site. I plan on purchasing the course myself.

As I said though, I'm not yet a successful IMer. These are just the two courses that I'm aware of that will give you an overall idea of what you will need to do.

I'm also interested in hearing some of the other suggestions from the people here on this forum.

      Hi Marc!

Developing an information product for the performing arts niche sounds fantastic!

You've already seen some of my other posts. The $1500 IM course I referenced was Ali Brown's "Online Success Blueprint" which is no longer available. She revamped it into a complete, year-long course called Elevate which you can see at ElevateBizTraining.com. It's much more than a stand-alone home study course: it's a paced, sequential, video-based training program which also includes weekly access calls with Ali and her coaches. (I didn't have that kind of coaching available to me when I just bought her homestudy course. It's HUGELY valuable to be able to get your questions answered instead of being left to figure it out on your own.)

I also recommend Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula. I have PLF too and Jeff does an OUTSTANDING job of teaching you to make money online with your product or service. He gave us a lot of extras too, including intermittent coaching calls where we could ask our questions.

Both of these excellent programs combine an information product/program with a coaching element so you really get the best of both worlds for a flat fee.

These are my top two recommendations. You can't go wrong with either one.

I can't stress enough how strongly I feel that everyone should invest in at least one comprehensive IM course like these two. DON'T waste your valuable time and money trying to figure it out on your own from $7 e-books. IM isn't hard per se, but there are a lot of moving parts and pieces. The learning curve is STEEP. There's much more to it than a $7 ebook can ever cover. Don't let yourself get lost in the weeds. Clarity about IM will do WONDERS for your success.

      Hope that helps!
