Reliable membership plugin?

I've used DAP (Digital Access Pass) now for about 3 weeks and it's a constant struggle, which is a shame since it has a LOT of cool features.

However, I just can't take it anymore. Support is very slow and the only way to contact them is by email. Today the system broke down and no customers received their login information etc. Basically, it's been a long headache.

I'm looking for a membership plugin/script that is equal to DAP in strength but with better support and not as many bugs. Actually...the bug thing is the most important. I need it to work with 100% reliability, 24/7, 365 days a year.

I've looked into aMember but from the info I've managed to gather it's painful to install etc. I'm not a really tech-savvy guy.

If it can protect Amazon S3 files as well, that would be great. I'm using DAP's S3 Media Vault plugin now but it doesn't really work correctly.

    Hi,

What problems have you had with DAP?

I have used it for a pretty unique setup and found it to be pretty easy to use and get everything strung up the way I need.

What limits have you hit with it?

I've used Wishlist Member for well over 3 years and have run a membership site with lots of paying members on there with absolutely no issues at all. I highly recommend it.

I prefer the stand-alone software aMember. And/or editing an open source project and editing it for your needs.

Optimizepress has everything that you could possible need and the new one has a membership plugin so you do not need another one and you get all the other bells and whistles with it for the same price as like wishlist or the others.

Its a must have if your a marketer...

This all-in-one marketing platform saves me over $7,000 per year. See how:

  • I have to say I am very disappointed with wishlist member. Same thing with amember. I can't even say anything great about optimize press. I have tried them all and they all fail in one thing or another.

I used to use Launch Formula Marketing which used to be fantastic, but then they made some big time changes and it threw me for a loop, but they have a new programmer now and he is awesome so I will be giving it a go again. They also changed the name of the company to Login Frequency Marketing. I highly recommend them. And no I do not own shares in the company. They are just the best membership site script I have found.

Is anyone using Membermouse for their membership sites? It looks pretty good, but it's a $19.95 monthly fee as opposed to a one time fee.

  • At $19.95 a month it starts to add up. I think you are better off paying a one time fee. After all this is really a lifetime investment.

True, but I don't mind paying monthly if it's a good product. I pay more than that for web hosting each month!

  • It better be pretty darn stellar at that price. I pay hundreds of dollars each month for hosting but that is totally different. Same with aweber. It is like comparing apples to a honda.

There is another company that charges $50 a month for a membership site. They are highly recommended. I forgot what the name of the company is though. If I remember I will update this post.

    Hi Stolpioni,

Sorry to hear about your issues with support.

Here at DAP, we take great pride in our support, and we offer 7-days a week, almost 20-hours a day support with round-the-clock staff. We even respond to tickets on weekends and national holidays.

And it's interesting what you said about being able to contact us only via email - because it in fact, the exact opposite is true - we do not respond t tech support request by email at all. The only way to get support from us is to open a support ticket at http://DigitalAccessPass.com/support/ . And anyone who sends us an email gets that email turned into a ticket before we even look at it, because we need a support trail, keep all of the information in one place, need to be able to review it for accuracy and consistency, and be able to share it with multiple support techs who may work on your ticket.

So, it's possible that you sent your request for support to the wrong email id, because we certainly didn't get it (if we had, you would've had a ticket number by now and known that we don't directly respond to support requests by email).

So, if you can kindly open a ticket at http://DigitalAccessPass.com/support/ and give us all of the details about your issue, or PM me with your ticket number if you already have one, Veena or I (DAP co-founders & co-developers) will personally take a look and make sure it's resolved.

    Thanks,

    - Ravi Jayagopal
