I've done both and still am having a hard time deciding which way to go with my next product. Here's some of the major pros and cons I'm considering. Please add more if you're interested in the debate... -- Clickbank is easy for getting affiliates. Just about every affiliate marketing tutorial or product talks about using clickbank for getting started so affiliates are everywhere. I've launched a product with clickbank before and did nothing to promote it and still got a ton of affiliates and made some money. The only problem is it fizzled out after a few months. It may have just been the niche though. -- I already have a merchant account, but it can be a hassle to deal with refunds on your own and definitely with paying out your affiliates every month. I also am set up with a fulfillment company for another product, but there's always a little to do every now and then; like order more products, shipping issues, someone emailing me to say 'something's wrong with my disk' ... -- Using my own merchant account looks more professional to potential affiliates, but at the same time, they know they're going to get paid through clickbank and if they already have an account they don't have to fill out the affiliate application. -- As a downside to clickbank, so many products on their marketplace look pretty trashy. Then of course, you get higher refunds since they seem to make it easy and people know they don't even have to contact the product creator. -- Can also charge more if I go through my own merchant account. Putting together a physical product also has a higher perceived value. So anyway, those are my main thoughts. I've been working online for about 5 years full-time so I'm not new at this, but have put a lot of work into this latest product and want to turn it into a big part of my business. Nothing I've ever put on clickbank has turned into a full-fledged business, more of just extra money. So I'm just not sure if clickbank is the answer, but it's tempting because it takes out so much hassle. So if you have a successful clickbank product that has been going strong for several years, then I'd love to hear your insights on how it's worked out and if you wish you would have gone through your own system or if you looovvvee clickbank. Thanks! Lisa |

Hi, I am not sure of the relevance of my comment but here in the UK everything seems seriously overpriced and I am having to go for cheap products, considering there are very few books you have to pay more than $20 for and you can get them from high street shops? In paper form. So that is my response thanks |
