How do you measure good content? Examples of good content?

You know, i was going to give it the old "Google It" but people seem to get upset when you refer them to Google.

That depends on the person who receives the content.

If the person is interested in "Funny Pictures" then good content means lots of really funny pictures.

If the person needs an answer on "where the heck is Hoboken" the good content will tell that it is a city in New Jersey and maybe show a map and a couple sentences on what that city is all about.

So, good content would be that what answers the persons question or demand.

Try to engage with people.
Post things that help in some way and give value.
Don't just go for the hard sell, but provide lots of free content.

For me, a good content is original, informative, interesting and useful.

In my eyes good content is something that's well written, informative, interesting to read and original.

Good content is about more than making multiple posts revolving somewhat around the same topic in order to increase ones post count.

Good content is any relevant content that provides value to the readers. The value is usually in the form of providing some sort of solution or answering a question

A. Entertaining.
B. Informative.

Write an article with a little bit of both and you will have "good" content. The trick is to learn how to write articles that engage your readers. It takes time.

Good content is content that many people enjoy looking at, reading, watching...etc. If you look at what is popular on social media and in hot searches you'll find out how stupid the average person really is today. lol

Good content is like telling a great story that engages and excites people. You need to romance your reader into wanting more and create such an intrigue that you become the authority on your topic. That is why I refuse to use plr on my website, it's too risky. You also have to be transparent and inject your personality into the content. Approach each article as a story and start with an outline to stay on track and get all the points in that you had wanted to get across. All the best to you!

Good content is content that offers immediate value to your target audience. It adds to the discussion, meaning it should reflect your UNIQUE perspective.

Good content should be presented in the format(s) that your audience finds most engaging whether that be blog posts, infographics, Slideshare decks, videos, e-books or ALL OF THE ABOVE.

The best way to get started with good content is to create a "how-to" blog or video that outlines a solution to a problem your audience has. For example, if you are a web designer, you could list 10 simple steps to setting up your WordPeres site or blog. A personal trainer could list a "6-Step diet and strength routine to cut your body fat in half in 4 weeks". Its better to create 1-3 pieces of awesome content and spend the rest of your time promoting them than it is to churn weak and boring blog posts.

Take your content and "recycle" it, turning a blog into a quick video, slideshare presentation or infographic, and syndicate this content across all these platform-specific channels.

Once you create this content, use it as a traffic magnet for new subscribers. Share the content on forums, social sites and industry websites. Promote this content using PPC, Facebook, etc.. do this again and again, measuring the results and building your list.

Good content is like beauty - it is in the eye of the beholder!

Google cannot tell what is good or bad content. Therefore, focus on your readers. Provide content that will interest them and cause them to come to your site.

If you are willing to share your content in order to attract more viewers, then do what Alexa says: write "content that publishers in your niche, who already have access to the traffic you want to attract, want and choose to share with their own subscribers, readers and visitors".

Good content is something so valuable to read that people will search for it! BOOM!

I like many of the ideas above: "good" content should entertain, educate, inspire. Each piece of content should have a singular focus--perferably something that can be summed up in one short, clean sentence. Your content should follow some basic "proven" article writing structures, including an attention grabbing headline, "scannable" sub-heads, and bullet points for readability.

My own spin on this, lately, is to discover the questions your audience is ALREADY asking about the subject...in places like Yahoo Answers, and Google, so that your titles and subjects have an actual search volume associated with it....and is more likely to bring you "long-term targeted traffic."

If you are going to do IM it's worth your while to learn how to write good blog posts, and articles, as well as other kinds of content--infographics, videos, audios, etc.

Good content is like a good book. You'll instinctively know when you read it. Unfortunately, computers are dumb, therefore it still takes a human to judge what good content is.

Search Engines and people may have different views of Good content. But you must be writing content for people not for search engines I think. If you are doing so, a good content is something which people will find useful, catchy, interesting. Also, they will share it freely among themselves.

Sometimes crappy, spun contents can be good content to search engines because they are not human and they mark each content according to a certain algo.

Please be more practical. Meaning don't talk about "good content for your niche", share examples of good content. Thanks.

Good content is obviously subjective but here's my personal view based on what I want to see when I'm looking for content:

1. I want it to be unique I hate seeing the same article all over

2. I want it to be in depth, one of my biggest complaints is content will be too surface level and thus lacks practicality

3. I want it to be valid, I read far too much content that hasn't been thoroughly validated

That's what I think. My point is that by saying that you have to have good content they are saying


N O T H I N G.

It's a stupid platitude nobody seems to notice.
