Accepting Payments off Website for Service Provider

Hi Folks, I'm a service provider and am looking to add a page to my website where people can pay me by entering their credit card. Does anyone have a suggestion for a reputable provider that and one that will be easy for me to add to my site. (it's a simple wordpress and I had difficult enough time setting it up)

You're going to have to search online for merchant services but I'm going to be 100% honest. Unless you have a large store (retail) or are pretty established, you may have trouble getting people to give you their credit card numbers directly. Have you thought about using PayPal? PayPal lets you create "pay here" buttons so people can pay you securely, and you can embed those buttons on your WP pages.

Cool thanks about the paypal embed button. I basically provide hour consultations for my field (accounting), and want to tell clients to go to my site, and make the payment before they come in. I've found that emailing them a bill from paypal is optimal. I did not know i could embed a paypal button through wordpress. That sounds like my best solution, better than something like stripe(do they even offer this?) i'm guessing.

To accept credit cards yourself, you will need a merchant ID and a credit card processor. Maybe not what you're looking for in a start-up.

The easiest is for you to get an account with and accept PayPal or some other Internet payment system that processes credit card payments.

Actually is there something other than paypal? I want something where they don't have to be members, can just quickly submit their credit card information

PayPal is something where they don't have to be members.

Not being able to take payment online by PayPal is surely going to put you at a great disadvantage: it's how many people want and expect to pay.

You can sell services on ClickBank, too (where customers can pay by credit-card or by PayPal) but they charge 7.5% +$1 per payment and many people don't find it worthwhile unless they intend making sales through affiliates.

PayPal accepts PayPal, credit cards and debit card payments and not at a huge fee rate.

With paypal they can pay with a credit card without being members unless you want them to pay recurring payments in which case they need to be members.

To generate a paypal button for your site:
      - login into your paypal account
      - Click on 'Merchant Services
      - Click on 'create a payment button for your website'
      - Make sure you are on 'Option 1' and click on the blue 'Create a button' link
      - Enter the required details - choose button, enter name of service, price etc. & click the yellow ' create button' link
      - now you will get a code you can copy by clicking 'select code' and pasting into the page on your wordpress site. Make sure you are in 'text' and not in 'visual' when you enter the code, so it accepts the code.

I hope this helps, shut out if you need further help
