Member profiles within membership site

What plugin or tool would you recommend for creating member profiles with search features, to facilitate networking, within a membership site on Wordpress? Also like to have the ability for members to contact each other within the platform

Not sure which membership platform we'll be using yet, so if this feature is built in to it, that can work as well.

    You could take a look at BuddyPress. It's a very neat platform to build a social community on. I don't know about the compatibility with membership plugins as I have not tested it with any, but I suppose it would work with most of them.
