I don't understand how people find ads for their sites.

It must take ages to search for the right ads for just one site, let alone if you have 10 or more sites.

How do people find their ads that are right for their market?

Are there companies that do this for you?

I was always under the impression that the ad networks just do it for you, with you not really have much say in it at all.

I'm not sure what your question is asking.

Are you asking about creating ads for your own website or finding the right advertisers to advertise on your website?

If you are referring to the latter then most people will usually join an ad network where they only install the code once and then the advertising platform chooses the most suitable and relevant ads for your website. it's in everyone's best interest for ads to be as relevant to the website content as possible.

Yes that's what I was asking.

But some people don't go that way do they, they seem to have specialist ads for their websites.

@Dr Boom - If you have knowledge of your niche and relevant products/services in that niche then finding ads is not that difficult (although you will have to experiment to see what converts). If you're playing the numbers game with lots of sites then you're probably better off sticking with contextual advertising.

Great list! I also think that it is not that difficult to look for ads. It is very easy and you can find them just everywhere, whatever niche you may have. However, if your blog has already gained impressive stats, you would no longer be looking for them. They would already be the ones looking for you.

If you have use an ad network, they do it for you.

If you seek your own advertising clients, you have to use an ad server. You're probably going to have to buy one, the free options don't have many features. Clients like detailed reports.

The best ad network is adsense and it offers lots of functionalities
like blocking a specific sites or ads from your site.

I hope these answers your question.
