Hello
I am starting a unique sports newsletter associated with my website. It will be only about 2 columns to begin with. How frequently should I add new convent 1 2 week?. Its been only 3 days since sign up and currently 100 subscribers. Thanks

I send my newsletter once a week. If your subscribers are really hungry for your information, once a week is probably good. That way you can send broadcast messages when you need to and it won't seem like they're getting too much mail from you. Also, by sending only once a week it keeps them wanting more if they're hungry for what you're giving them!

How often will you have enough new content to support whatever schedule you come up with?

It's easy to say you could post something every day, and then in a few weeks, you've said everything you want to say and you 're stuck for new material.

Most of my newsletters follow one of two schedules:

      > Some are weekly, with very occasional broadcasts. These tend to be fairly short, one or two articles.

      > Some are alternating weekly. Odd weeks (1,3,5,...) get a regular newsletter. Even weeks get a round-up type letter with "the best stuff I found online this week", a collection of videos, blog posts, news stories, etc.

Whatever schedule or format you decide on, BE CONSISTENT. If you need to change format or frequency, warn your subscribers about what's coming.

I always think the important thing is to match your subscribers' expectations (and to set them, with plenty of information about what's going to happen), so that you can do so.

I send my newsletter usually twice a week, sometimes more sometimes less depending on how valuable I think the information is. Ask yourself if you were receiving the newsletter, how often would you want to receive it? Some people get away with a mailing every day but I feel like you need to have some really good content if you're going to be doing that
