should i go with affiliates?

I always start with IM get all involved but then get over whelmed and put the entire thing down for 4-5 months and start again. Seems I pick up little pieces each time...but any who..

I want to setup an auto-pilot type deal where I can create a bunch of mini sites and have them make me some $$$$. I don't mind the leg work or research as I love that part of the job.

My question is this....

In this day and time what seems to be the best option to go with...should I:

#1 - Find a good topic and create a informative site and slap up adsense
#2 - Try to promote an affliate product to flip

Which one would be the fastest, most effective method to go with.

Thanks for any replies..

    Hi...

It really depends on the niche. Some niches do better using the Adsense model. Others have plenty of available affiliate products and CPA offers to promote.

And some people use a combination of Adsense and affiliate links.

The first step is finding that highly searched/lower competition niche that you would feel excited to work in (I can't tell you how many projects have died on my hard drive due to plain boredom).

I agree with KateD and the answer to your question seems to be "both".
Build a site with unique content (best if you have personal interest in it).

Put AdSense prominently on each page and also add one or two affiliate products/services that are complement the content well. You could add pages featuring different keywords, where each page is similar to a blog entry and be sure that it is easy to navigate from page to page.

An example is my personal running site (Google "runmarathonman") where you'll notice AdSense and running-related banner ads on all pages. Building traffic takes time, especially free traffic, so learn SEO techniques one at a time (building inbound links, google keyword tool to research the best keywords,...)
      Good luck!

Throwing up a few sites is always a good idea when you are testing the waters, and as long as you follow up with analyzing your statistics and further developing your ideas, I think you will be just fine.
