You can't promote affiliate products with Google Adwords, the only way is to create a good article about any product and then send traffic to it through Google Adwords, don't link directly to affiliate pages, you will be banned.
Try other like 7search , they're good for affiliates.

No, it never is!

You're ignoring lots of variables that make all the difference.
- Competition of similar products and by other marketers
- Keyword optimization and research
- CTRs and Conversion
- Compelling offer
- Sales copy (or pre-selling)
- Your lack of trust by the prospects
and many other critical points that go into real marketing.

I suggest you try your "point A to point B" on a very small scale and see how well it works. When you've lost all your money and wasted your time, then return and take some time to observe and learn what marketing online entails.

Agree.

Money making is honestly not hard, but you really need a formal structured business both for yourself and also to shut the auditors and the government up.

Building a business unfortunately is not as simple as point a to point b.

You will hear of rags to riches stories online all of the time where some kid builds a website or an app on their own, no investment other than time and energy and turns it into a few Million but this is rare (of all the stories maybe 1-2% are real, the rest are just media stunts and the kid turns out to be wealthy with financial backers).

Making money online is simple once you're actually making money online. If someone is starting off as a beginner... this stuff can seem like an advanced engineering course or applying differential equations to find out the location of a particle in space.

Yep, l would add, that making money online is easy, (create a crap product, PDF, and then just throw traffic at it until it sells).

But making money, or profit and then being able to scale is the thing that takes time, hard work and determination!

But if you are determined enough, then it is possible!

I agree.

The hardest part about making money online is figuring out HOW to make money online. Once you know how to build a decent website, drive traffic, and promote products; it is fairly easy to scale up. The trick is to learn how to do all that.

Practice makes perfect.

Just start working and you will figure it out on the go. It is honestly not THAT difficult to make money online.

Apart from ...

(i) The fact that AdWords TOS don't allow it, and ...

(ii) The fact that most of the available income in affiliate marketing comes from (a) keeping your traffic returning to the sales page (because very few people buy anything much at their first visit to a sales page), and (b) making repeated sales to the same customers, and (c) selling things on the strength of your recommendation because your readers/visitors trust you, and you can't really do any of those three things without building lists, and ...

(iii) The fact that Google traffic (of which AdWords is a paid-for kind) tends to be about the worst, least responsive, least productive kind of traffic you can have for many kinds of affiliate sales.

Its not....people make it seem to be. Its like the bodybuilding thing, building muscles is a lot of work but it they make it seem like we can grow 40 pds in on week. You need a strategy or else you would work for nuttin

The usual simple formula is something like TARGETED TRAFFIC + CONVERTING COPY = PROFIT. But it's not as easy as it appears.

CONVERTING COPY isn't so much a problem. If you had enough TARGETED TRAFFIC for a buyer niche, you could split test and refine the copy at your leisure. Eventually you'd probably get some copy that converts well. I like these kinds of situations in which other people aren't getting in my way and results are up to me.

Getting enough TARGETED TRAFFIC is the problem. If you pay for it, you've gotta ensure the costs don't wipe out your profits. And whether you pay for it or go the free route, you'll find a bunch of anal policy wonks and self-loathing 9-5 desk monkeys ready to stifle your efforts and penalize/suspend/ban/blacklist you at every turn.

  Yep, try to create a optin form, with Adwords and suspension will become an all out ban!
  
  I read through their terms, (which took a week) and created a site with content, etc.
  
  Then had to put my optin form at the bottom of one of those 5 or 6 content pages, which was a total waste of time.
  
  In the end l got rid of the optin form, because none of the traffic converted, (no wonder, since l wasn't allowed to offer any freebie with it, and it was in the corner of the site).
  
  The only way to create a list with Google is to, offer a sensational product for a dollar, and get as many buyers on your list as possible.
  
  I don't agree with the remarks about adword traffic being lousy. For me Bing and probably Yahoo, traffic never converts, but Adwords does, or did for me!
  
  Yep, as others have said, make a decision, go for it, learn from your mistakes, try again, blah, blah. And then dump it after months of effort or when you start to see how good or bad it is.
  
  Then try something else that is cheaper as a startup, etc!
  
  The golden rule isn't does this area l am testing work, but how determined am l to find something that works.
  
  If you are like Will Smith, and will keep trying or die, then success is a sure thing!

While this is a great thing to know and a good starting place, it isn't the whole picture (although it sounds like it would be). Business is more complicated than that. There are usually many, many factors involved that keep something from being so simple. Steve B alluded to some of them. Others are your work ethic, how much time you have to devote, cost of entry, etc.

Your best bet is to keep "throwing stuff at the wall". After awhile, something will stick. When that happens, run with it... as fast and as furious as you can!

yeah man, if you're a rookie with ppc and especially adwords, then you best consult in some programs that teach you how to do it right these days. Gone are the adwords of direct linking your ad to affiliate site, for 5 cents a click.

Now you must send users from ad to a landing page that is relevant to the keyword searched, or what keyword you bid on. And then have a review style page that has links below the fold.
