Hello all,

I am working on niches fashion and travel.
The sites are fashiondressestrends.com and traveladvisorchannel.com

I am doing on page SEO,link building and social media marketing for these sites.Though they are popular and demanding niches, I am getting very less traffic like 10-20 visits daily.

Please tell me where these sites are lacking like designing, themes or any other issues.

Both of the niches has VERY HIGH competition. You need to put lot more work in social media networks and blog promotion. But try to concentrate on long tail key words first.

Great advice defiantly build up social media and if you are focusing on SEO long tail keywords will be easier to rank for. all the best

        knn,

Just a couple of quick observations for fashiondressestrends.com

I would get rid of the left column Amazon ad and get rid of the right column MadWire ad. What does MadWire have to do with fashion dresses?

For each of your articles (posts) I would add a nice classy full color image of a model in a dress that's currently in high fashion (with a link to a place where one can buy that dress). It will help the post to stand out. The article should refer in some way to the image and vice versa.

        For the traveladvisorchannel.com site

Get rid of the top prominent ad for Google / Adsense. It detracts from your header and has nothing to do with the travel industry.

Dump the Lynda.com ad in the left column - it has nothing to do with travel, hotels, airlines, etc.

Same comment as above about adding a relevant, high quality, professional image to each post that in some way enhances that post. No random images, but you post is about traveling to Iceland, find a picture of beauty in Iceland - something that will entice the reader to want to go to that place. Same thing with visiting L.A. Find an image of an attraction there (Disneyland maybe).

On both sites I would also beef up the posts. They are pretty short and really aren't compelling or entice the reader to want to visit the place talked about. Go to web sites about these destinations and pick and choose some interesting places to visit and then write about them.

As your site is supposed to be a "travel adviser" it makes sense to do just that with your content and images.

I guess that's all for now.

        Good luck with your sites.

        Steve

Both of those niches are very "Image" oriented so I would take Steve B's advice with the images. This will also open up the opportunity for some good Pinterest marketing

how these sites are ranking? are they first page ?
it is in very comparative niche but if they don't rank on first page they receive only very small part of the traffic.

Have you tried guest blogging for other fashion blogs (for the fashion site)? Pinterest and Instagram would definitely be something that I'd get on.

When people think fashion, it should seem like a fashion blog with some color or design, but the tone of the blog is very dull and ordinary, the complete opposite of fashion. If the blog is a template, I'd recommend adding some colors, if at all possible.

You could try off page seo to rank for low competition keywords to try to get in search engines positions 1 -3.

Once there you should see more clicks to your websites.

What keywords are you targeting buddy? You will need a BIG budget capture the most competitive words. Perhaps you should zero in on some lower competition keywords and work from there!

Information shared by Steve B is truly informative and commendable. To increase for your website you can also adopt following points:
. Write well and write often
. Submit your blog to search engines
. Use and update your blogroll
    . Use links and trackbacks
    . Tag your posts

Why not just advertise both sites in Google at $0.01 or $0.02 per click at a budget of $5 to $10 a day. It's a 100% sure traffic and you'll earn both on adsense and the products you're selling on those sites. Or, create facebook fan page each and then promote each pages (within or outside facebook) to gain more Likes to generate traffic. Advertising is lesser work and inexpensive compare to SEOs (especially hiring SEO services where there's no guarantee that they can rank your site), article marketing, blog commenting, press releases, etc.

Building a readership in any niche takes time and lots of work. These techniques are considered some of the best.

      - Guest posting (keep in mind it is difficult to guest post on high ranking sites initially)
      - Commenting on blogs in your niche
      - Commenting on blogs in your topics sphere ( study abroad sites, exotic foods, budgeting for travel, etc.)
      - Using social bookmarking sites ( Reddit, Pinterest)
      - Posting content frequently (3-5 articles per day for aggressive growth, 1 per day for moderate growth)

Keep in mind, this will be a full time job. Doing these activities over the course of years will result in income. 20 hours per week will probably yield a part time income and 40-50 hours a week will yield full time income. The harder you work, the more you will earn. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will your readership.

I'm just going to pick on your travel website as I'm a travel lover...

I'm only going to give your three points which should help you focus on actioning them:

    1) The page is far to BUSY. There are words everywhere and I have no idea where the posts were or what I should be looking at. Look for a better theme as mentioned above or some colour to differentiate sections.

Having ads all over it does not help either.

    2) You are a travel site with pictures!!!! Travellers love pictures... you are really missing a trick here. Get more pictures and I mean tons of them into your articles...

    3) On the subject of your articles/posts.. the headlines are terrible (Content was mentioned above so I won't mention again). They are boring and do not want to make me click (remember I'm your target audience). Sorry, its true.
Use a tool like this one to create awesome headlines in seconds:

    linkBait

One change at a time and you will see progress...

The fashiondresstrends site needs some glamorous photos to lure the eyes because fashion is ultimately visual....also, convert a bunch of your articles into pdf's and submit to document sharing sites, etc....you can hire somebody with a good rating from fiverr for this.

Travel is tough but I did better with fashion. Fashion is great in that there are just so many long tail keywords to chase.

If you start a website about fashion, you have to make sure that the design and layout are also in fashion. I mean , fashion equals creativity, but your website design is totally boring and lacking imagination. You should do something about that if you want your visitors to be interested in what is written there. I wouldn't trust fashion tips from a site that is not in fashion in terms of design and image
