Blog Hosting Packages

Hey Guys

I am new to the site and wondering if you could help me with a few questions that have really been bugging me. I look forward to becoming a regular active warrior member.

I am looking to set up a Wordpress blog from wordpress.org to increase my newsletter subscribers from organic traffic, I have my domain registered at godaddy, and it seems they have a wordpress hosting package.

Do Wordpress blogs need a different hosting package, to that of a normal website hosting service?

I have read everywhere that blogs are a must, however when just starting a new blog, is it worth posting frequently? I am starting a video blog and it would be very time consuming recording new videos for little/no traffic initially.

Many thanks.

Simon

No, because they are websites too. But like Graham says, GoDaddy is not the best place to host them, and I'd second his suggestion to use Hostgator instead. It's only a few dollars per month and they have something called Fantastico that sets up your blog in minutes. You can keep your domain name at GoDaddy, you just have to edit the nameservers to point the domain to Hostgator (you get 2 adddresses to input, it's easy).

I usually host my own and my clients about 10.00 a month it is very easy to set up but I help all my peeps out I am not big like Hostgator but understand the internet marketer's needs including my own hehe I was a web hoster prior to becoming a internet marketer. I would say never host with Godaddy and keep your hosting company and domain registrar separate. Ecityweb Tech Services

You can host a wordpress blog on any hosting package. Most shared hosts even offer one-click install programs that will setup and configure wordpress for you.

If you're looking to use Wordpress to build your opt-in list make sure you check out BigTie! for Madmimi and Mailchimp.

BigTie! is a very easy to install and use plugin that will allow you to automatically add and users that register to your blog to your mailing list.

If you haven't setup mailing software, I'm a big fan of both MailChimp and MadMimi. We're currently using both and we are also looking into writing a version of BigTie! for iContact.

if you are a new to blogs then i suggest you use the free hosting before you pay for it. most newbies sign up for the whole works and end up doing nothing with it. you should blog for a month under the free host and then transfer it to a domain and host once you get consistent.
