Is anybody using WooCommerce?

I would like to know if there is a way to sell through the WooCommerce plugin and only allow ONE OF EACH ITEM to be sold at a time?

In my existing PLR store, I sell multiple copies to various buyers, but I want to set up a new store, where I sell only ONE copy of a written package to ONE buyer. After that, the store would tell anyone else there are "no copies" left to buy.

Can you tell me if WooCommerce can do this? Thanks!

    Hi bgean,

Yes you can. In the product setup, there is a field that you tick to only sell one of.

Tick the option to manage stock and set the stock quantity to 1.

      Thank you!

Can you tell me if WooCommerce shows the item in the store (after the quantity of 1 is sold) and if it gives the "out of stock" message to buyers or does it remove the item from the inventory list and not show the item at all to people surfing the store?

I believe it shows as out of stock.

It will hide the product from showing if the product is out of stock. Dashboard->WooCommerce->Settings-> Inventory

I have setup two stores with WooCommerce plugin. Currently there is no theme issue happened.

Is anybody running WooCommerce with the Genesis framework?

How difficult is it to set WooCommerce up on Genesis?

I'm stuck between choosing the Focus Theme on the Genesis Framework over buying the Canvas theme from WooThemes.

I like the look of Focus on Genesis, but hate the idea of having to deal with WooCommerce issues if they exist.

Anybody know if Genesis is hard to set up using WooCommerce?

Thanks for any help you could provide!

      Bonnie,
I don't use it with Genesis (sorry!) but I have used WooCommerce with Canvas and they work amazingly well together. If you do end up switching over to Canvas, I think you'll like it.

One of the problems I have with Canvas *(unless I am overlooking something)* is that it looks very bland out of the box.

I've watched the 4 videos WooThemes provided on how to customize the theme, but they don't show whether you can add a graphic logo to the top of the page, even though they show that you can add a banner on the right side of the header.

Is it possible to change the header files from the "text based" logo to a graphic one?

I would really hate to buy another theme for over $100 and then find out I can't do something as simple as change the header file to hold a graphic logo. LOL

Yep, it's TOTALLY plain out of the box for sure lol. The good news is, you can easily change just about anything and everything in Canvas.

Yes, you can have an image based logo/header, change background colors, go full width (if you want) and change just about any detail/color (large or small) pretty easily. The customization is why I love the theme so much because you can create totally different looks with it.

If you do get it and have any specific questions on how to change something, let me know. I have a "Canvas" file in Evernote that I add to every time I change something so it's easy if I ever want to make a specific change again.

There is a Woocommerce "Genesis Connect" extension free here
WordPress › Genesis Connect for WooCommerce « WordPress Plugins

This plugin allows you to seamlessly integrate WooCommerce with the Genesis Framework and Genesis child themes.

A canvas you buy in an art supply store is bland too. Thus the name of the Canvas theme. It's empty on purpose. I have made so many sites with Canvas that it was worth the cost. You might also want to look at some of the ecommerce/woocommerce specific themes.

OP, you should experiment more. Woocommerce is free and you can easily play around with it just to see what features it has or what limitations there are. I've used WC for multiple sites and I'm always learning something new about it.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.
