Default The Most Vital Lesson I Ever Learnt...This Saved Me A Lot of Time.

I am big into WSO'S & getting almost any and every guru ebook out there which claims to help me make more money. But slowly with time I have come to realize that none of that stuff actually helped me too much.

I had the all fancy collection of super advanced ebooks out there...So much so that I would normally spend half my day for about 2 years trying to get information out of them.

But did this help me? Nope!

I knew a lot of things which just weren't really dealing with getting me results rather just educating me.

So I stopped myself a few months ago and asked...Is this all getting me towards my goal faster or delaying the whole process?

You see what I realized was that I was spending more time getting more and more info which was just worthless when it came to achieveing my goal.

So that's when I made this big realization.

My whole purpose was to make more money and achieve my goals faster therefore I have to shift my focus from everything on to just one thing which would get me results.

You see the fact is that you only need as much information that would get you the results fast...The rest should be only leisure study.

So I shortlisted a bunch of information which directly dealt with getting me to my goals real fast and just focussed on it for a month.

Surprisingly my productivity had sky rocketed and now...I have more income coming in.

You see everyone out there wants to learn everything but as humans we can only do so much at a time. Our brain can only manage so much.

Therefore the main key is to learn those tricks of the trade which get the job done instead of trying to learn everything which only delays the process.

In fact we see it all around us...Some of the greatest people in the world don't really know everything...They just know the things which get the job done on time.

Therefore the moral would be to only work more on the things which take you from point A to point B in the fastest way possible and keep the rest of the information for the leisure time.

Well done for making the transition

I think there comes a time when we know deep down that we have learned enough about IM to be getting on with but somehow we relish the role of a newbie and want to constantly have what we know confirmed lol, I know I did it. A wee while back I made a decision to get one last product and scouted around for exactly what I needed to put it all into place and as a result, have been working ever since.

There does seem to be a process and some of us move on slower than others. Some don't move on at all and others give up I suppose.

However, I do think there is a place for the WSO's many of which are fantastic bargains but recognising when you are just procrastinating rather than progressing is the key.

Good post,

Cheers.

It is true, I dangled around a few products, got some free stuff, decided which one was best for me, bought it, only to find out it was not the best for me. This time I was right though, I have one membership and its all I need, they answer all my questions and everything, I wont put the link here! But if you want it, PM me.

I really do suggest finding one source, whatever it is! And stick to it!

Work smart, work hard, never give up.

I would add to what you said that nobody in the entire world know everything... but you can get other people to help you out.

Don't buy too many wso by the way...

well I can see from your writing why you spent so much time getting the info into your brain. I myself usually am a direct results person. Cliff notes asking people direct questions etc to get the job done faster.

nice job on building up the final conclusion of only work on things that directly achieve something. Like advertising and building personal realtionships

In order to achieve certain results, one needs to be aware of the necessary info to justify the decisions taken. Doing some research is inevitable, but the catch here is to optimize the way you spend your time on that. One needs to be able to filter information sources into the relevant, the not-so-relevant and the totally irrelevant ones.

Hi Ryanman,

Thank you for sharing this excellent post.

I do agree that the best thing to do is to apply the knowledge that work.

Knowledge is nothing until we have applied the knowledge

Just to add a bit more to it...We should not try to do everything all by ourselves. For example when starting out I wanted to build a website but didn't have any designing skills.

So I looked around for tutorials on photoshop and tried to learn all possible skills. Where as all I needed to do was to look for tutorials which would teach me how to make a simple header since that's all I needed.

You see it's good to learn it completely but it could have waited and I could have learned it gradually over time but...I rather spent the first few months just trying to figure out everything which only delayed everything.

I realized this a long time ago... Must be four months ago - Jan 2010. No product's gonna help you... except you. When I signed up for Wealthy Affiliate, I was devestated at the low quality material. It might be good material for the newbies but for me it was the worst stuff ever.
I knew all of it and there's really no use. Education's no use unless you take action on it. Taking action on what you learnt is what takes time. And you can't take many actions at once. It will lead to multi tasking. One task at a time and one thing you know at a time will work wonders even though you'll fail a lot in the process.
