Flippa buyer refuses to confirm their name, scam or makes sense ?
When I sold my listing to him last week, he delayed paying and said after making a purchase via Flippa, that Paypal put his account under review.
When he finally could pay, he claimed he couldn't use the flippa paypal button.
He asked for an invoice.
He paid the invoice and I instantly transferred the domain and website to him.
Fast forward and he complained about my very helpful support team that services my customers via Freshdesk.
I suggested sending all information via snail mail. He then flipped out and said he wanted a refund.
It seemed odd that he would oveereact to my suggestion that I send him materials for the website.
I told him I would refund him but asked him to verify his name.
More anger and venom.
He proceeded to say that I don't need to know his name. And thats it's none of my business.
Long story short, but this joker appears to have his phone number under a different name, paypal under different name and generally be shady.
I called paypal to try and see if I can ensure the return of my domain if I issue a refund.
They said they dont handle return of digital goods.
I suppose it's just as well since the buyer continued to verbally insult me and even said he might resell the name if I don't refund him asap.
A truly wearying experience.
Overall I have quite nice buyers. It's just been this loon and one other guy who make me scratch my head.
So am I being improper in expecting to know the real name of the person buying from me ?
He wasn't using a corporate name, even that would be fine.
Thanks.
