All I see here is

"how do get get top g. rankings"

"how do i spam f.b/linked/youtube etc

"how do get 100 subscribers a day"

"how do i get 1,000 hits a day"

"how can I juggle around 30+ businesses at the same time"

spam,spam and spam

what about your actual business? Products/service/sales funnel? How about meeting real people off the net? meetings? Relationships, word of mouth?

Ranking top of G an getting 2,000 email subscribers is not all thee is in business. Stop the madness.

You can report those posts..if enough users do it, those threads will go bye-bye.

Now, I'm not sure if it's an anonymous process or not. Anyone know?

      trader909,

Most of those are parts of an online business. The spam stuff is an unfortunate dark side to the industry, but we'll never get rid of it. Best we can do is try to show people more productive alternatives.

There are plenty of threads on the things you suggested as being more useful. You just have to be pickier about what you do with your time here. If you don't like the other thread topics, don't read them.

      Ghoster,
I'm not sure if it's an anonymous process or not. Anyone know?
The mods know who's sending reports, but we don't casually discuss that with anyone else. The only time I can think of when telling anyone (except maybe another mod) who reported something would be in a dispute over a refund or other sales-related issue. Even then, it would only be discussed with the relevant parties.

For instance, Seller reports Poster, claiming Poster is commenting on a product they haven't actually purchased. We may ask Poster for some evidence of having bought the thing, and possibly check with the affiliate system used, to verify their order. That would all be done in private.

There are probably other circumstances I'm not thinking of at the moment, or which haven't happened yet, but it's just not something we would do casually or often.

It might be madness to you but not to the people asking the questions.

This is an open forum where newbies can come to post IM related questions that matter to them, and subsequently learn from other more experienced members. We all had to start somewhere.

Whilst some of the questions may seem repetitive to you (and even I get weary of the same old same) not all new members - or even not so new - know there is a search facility on here. Even those that do know may not be aware of how to get the best out of it. And again, there are those who prefer the interaction of live talk and interaction within a thread.

I don't see that any of those are not perfectly valid questions to ask by someone who's seeking the answers, unless they specifically ask how to spam somewhere - in which case report it.

As for spam, I suggest you pay a visit to an online thesaurus as you're obviously uncertain what it constitutes.

How do you know that many of the people asking questions here don't already do some of these things. Have you asked them?

The bottom line is that you have a choice as to which threads you look at, and/or participate in. There are tens of thousands of threads so you can't say you don't have that choice. Or there again you could simply use a different forum. Or even start your own forum where you could wage your own private war against those you perceive as "spammers".

I get what you're saying. It seems that if you try to find information on starting an internet business these days all you get is nonsense. Everyone is focussed on Google and forgetting about the customer and the value you should provide them. It would be great if all the spammers stopped.

The way I "made piece" with it is by constantly trying to provide value. Yeah sometimes I get it wrong but hopefully I'll only get better. I think people think online business is easy and you don't have to worry about all the "real world" problems, but unfortunately that's not the case. If you run your online business without following some basic business principles, you will eventually fail, or at least you won't create a business, just a part-time pain in the ....

The other problem these days is that all the "spammy" sites out there create a bad reputation/expectation for their respective industries and people start doubting all the legitimate businesses too. I am passionate about online business and I am always speaking to someone about it, but most of the time people seem to want the "silver bullet".

Honestly, the only way I see all these "spammy" sites, products and services will go away is if the general public realise that online business is still business. It takes time and hard work to build it. There is no magic formula, it's all hard work and determination, and ALL about the customer. Do something that matters. Something you can be proud of. Something that will stand the test of time.
